Card Balance Philosophy Explained

Card Balance Philosophy Explained -

Blizzard has posted a new developer diary on the Hearthstone site to give players insight into the way the team approaches card balancing, a crucial aspect to any game and one that is in full swing during the TCG's beta process.

Cards, according to the post, are "targeted" for any one of several reasons:

  • The card causes non-interactive game play
  • The card is frustrating to play against
  • The card is confusing or non-intuitive
  • The card is too strong compared to others in its bracket
  • Specific builds or styles are too strong
  • A card is weak

The developer diary goes on in much more detail about each of these categories so head to the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft site to read more.
