Vankyo is a relatively new company that formed back in 2017. One of the products they have created in their short time on the market is the Performance V600 Projector, and it is an affordable way to bring the theater feeling right into your living room.
One thing that companies strive for when it comes to displays is that perfect, crystal clear image. The V600 has that covered with its Ultra Brightness technology, reaching 5000 Lux (a Lux being equal to one lumen per square meter) with its closest competitor coming in around 2600 Lux. What this means for gamers, and moviegoers, is a picture that is very clear and sharp even when the lights are on. Yes, you can use this projector with the lights on. The picture is clearer with the lights off and you will still be amazed at how well you can see the display, whether on the wall or a screen.
A Bigger Way to Play
Projectors aren’t just limited to one thing though. They can truly be multipurpose. I have used it for gaming and watching television; however, you can also use it for business meetings or conferences, training classes at a job, as well as your standard theater use. There were some television shows, and movies, that ranged from the 80s to now. Due to this production range the quality of some of the movies and shows were not as clear as they are for newer productions made with modern HD cameras. Even with that being said, they still managed to come through clearly when being viewed even on a screen at 80 inches. When you are playing your games, however, the difference between retro games and newer games really isn’t that big. Most of the retro games I have are on the SNES Mini and they still look great on the V600, even compared to a game like Madden 20.

Depending on the distance between your device and your wall, or screen, you could end up having the size reach anywhere from 50 up to 300 inches. The size of the screen is proportionate to the distance the projector is from its target location, in this case the distance is 5.5 feet up to 30.2 feet away from the wall. Be careful with how big you make the screen though, the bigger the screen the bigger the falloff in picture quality without moving up to a better device. That being said it supports 1080P HD visuals and will provide you with 50000 hours of life. That is a lot of life for something that costs so much less than other companies. It is very important to note that based on my research you can’t replace the bulb by yourself for safety reasons.
Also included on the projector is a knob to adjust what is called Keystone Correction. This is a plus or minus 15-degree angle change to your screen. So if you have a rounded wall that you are projecting to you will be able to angle the device for the just-right view.
Sounds Good to Me
In a normal situation, most gamers will use headphones for their sound. Others will turn up their television set. With the V600 projector, you will be pleasantly surprised by how well the built-in speakers sound. With these stereo speakers, you can enjoy audio from games, movies, and shows without ever hooking up external speakers. I have used projectors in the past that also had built-in speakers and they weren’t even half as loud as these. The stereo sound decoder allows you to enjoy a clear auditory experience as it resonates from the projector. While the sound is very clear, it doesn’t have much bass to it. Compared to television sets where you can control the bass levels, this will sound a little flat when watching movies with hard hitting bass. The speakers are good for a medium-sized room, anything bigger than that and you will need to hook up speakers that will handle the bigger area while also providing you a new medium for better bass and treble levels.
Each projector includes a remote that you can use to control the volume, change from HDMI to AV and all the other channels with the touch of a button, and even control your videos.

Connections Aren’t Just for Networking
The Performance V600 is a versatile entertainment tool. You can use it for gaming or movies. You can hook it up to your PC, your cable or DirecTV box, your consoles, or you can simply just connect an external storage drive to the projector so that you can pull movies or programs right from the disk, giving you media on the go. It’s ready to deliver no matter what you’re connecting to and even comes with its carrying case to keep it safe if you take it traveling.
Final Thoughts
The Vankyo Performance V600 Projector is a versatile piece of equipment that allows you to expand your viewing experience and gives you great audio to go with it. While it isn’t a compact tool it can still be toted around with you in its carrying bag, and that means you can create a big screen with you wherever you go. I was impressed that I could use this in direct light and that showed that it’s not a one-trick pony limited to use in dark rooms. Finally, sound is always key to a good experience and wasn’t at all disappointed with the built-in speakers of this projector.
