Upon plugging in the K27 you will notice one thing that a lot of keyboard enthusiasts love: RGB lighting. RGB lighting is all good and everything, and it makes the keyboard really stand out, but take that away and you have a very responsive gaming peripheral. With mechanical blue switches, and a .1 millisecond response time, you’ll see it reflect in your gameplay. Let’s go through some of the specifics of the K27.
It’s all about the switches
The K27 keyboard comes setup with mechanical blue switches, and they give you a very clean feel with a loud click when pushed. I have used a reviewed a few keyboards, and this one gives you a very tactile feel. Because of the response speed being so low don’t need to bottom out the switch but it will still very quickly as if you pushed it all the way down. You will notice a big change in your gaming when you use this keyboard if you’re a touch typist.

Caps, Layouts, and Colors, Oh My
Motospeed has created a one-handed keyboard that has a fairly standard QWERTY setup, minus a few important keys. So the first thing you will notice is that it’s a fairly straightforward layout. You have the entire left-hand side of a normal keyboard without the F-Keys. This setup is fine for some games without having to rebind keys, however, with some shooters, or perhaps an MMO, you will need to rebind keys in a game to match keys on this keyboard. If you decide to use it in connection with your normal keyboard then you won’t have to worry about it so much. The keys are stacked in a ladder formation, which means that they are raised up off of the main board, and it is meant to promote an easier use of the keys. My feeling is that this K27 has a very ergonomic feel to it, and it has been great to use it for the games that I have used it for.
The keycaps are made up of ABS plastic, like most other keyboards, so there is nothing new there. The lettering, and symbols on the keys are a little bit different than the standard keyboard. It is noticeable on the Q and the #2 key with the @ symbol. Apart from these few items, the keys are pretty self-explanatory but they do feel good.
RGB lighting is the friend of most gamers who want to show off their gaming gear while they are streaming or just playing their games with their family. Maybe they want to show off their systems to people who come over – any way you look at it they love RGB. The K27 comes in with nine pre-programmed RGB lighting settings, and they are easy to sort through. You do not need to have any special software for this keyboard. All you need to do so that you can look at the different color schemes is to hit shift and escape. This will allow you to cycle through all of the nine different color settings. Each of the settings gives their own unique pattern, and light array.
Conclusion
The Motospeed K27 is a fully functioning half-sized mechanical keyboard with RGB lighting, and this makes it a good gaming peripheral for not only RGB enthusiasts, but also for mechanical gaming enthusiasts too. If I walked up to you on the street and showed you this keyboard, and told you it was great, would you believe it? I can tell you from using it for a short period of time that it comes as advertised. They say it is a standard piece of equipment for eSports players, and I can see where an eSports player would use it. That it is a standard piece of tech, maybe not so much. It is a very viable piece of gaming equipment, however, and it is relatively cheap for gaming.
