ACEFAST ACEFIT Air Wireless - Design and Highlights

Without question, the ACEFIT Air Wireless are the most unique earbuds I’ve reviewed in recent memory. From their unique ear-hook design to the open ear buds the Air Wireless stands out in the crowd. The bud is broken into two main sections, the battery compartment, which when worn, tucks comfortably behind the lower back portion of the earlobe and the speaker compartment which rests on top of the ear canal.

The two pieces are connected thanks to an incredibly thin (0.7mm thin!) ultra-flexible and tough rubberized band. Each earbud is a mere 7.5g in weight and while it might seem a bit odd when compared to a traditional earbud, the ACEFIT Air Wireless design is intended to maximize comfort for prolonged use. The two compartments seem to have a similar weight and distribute the weight evenly over your ear. Thanks to the ultra-thin connector, when worn, the Air Wireless becomes almost forgotten.

The ACEFIT Air Wireless is also quite durable while maintaining impressive flexibility. While the core wire forming is comprised of titanium the outer shell is coated in a liquid silicone casing which offers both a smooth and comfortable wearing experience as well as a rugged, durable finish. The result is a comfortable and durable earbud.

As an open-ear earbud, no part of the speaker is inserted into the ear canal. This allows airflow to and from the ear to continue without disruption. As someone who spends most of their days and evenings listening to music while working, this has been a welcome change from the standard earbud which frequently causes fatigue. These have become my go-to earbuds for that reason. The ultra-lightweight combined with the open-ear design provides incredible comfort even after several hours of use.

As noted one of the defining features of the ACEFIT Air design is the ultra-thin design which expands beyond the earbuds to the carry case. Measuring a mere 10mm total thickness, the case easily fits into your front or back pocket without becoming an inconvenient extra in your pants pocket. Like many earbud cases, the ACEFIT Air case doubles as the docking and charging station for the earbuds. Charging is handled via an included USB-C cable. The only small sacrifice to achieve the 10mm thickness is the placement of the USB-C charging port, which has to be located on the bottom of the charge. The result is that when charging the case sits awkwardly propped on its edge.

The ACEFIT Air is also IP54 rated, easily handling dust and water. At this rating, they are ideal for working out easily withstanding sweat or rain. On the note of working out, While the Air Wireless don’t fit snuggly in the ear canal they do still manage to stay securely attached to your ear. This was a bit surprising during testing as I assumed, based on the design, that they would easily wiggle free during a run. However, despite my best efforts and one headache later due to some serious headbanging (for science of course) the Air Wireless were still firmly in place on my ears.

Everything about the design, from its weight to ultra-thin components all work together to create one of the most comfortable earbuds I’ve tested. The carry case, likewise, offers a unique look and is quite functional in everyday life, easily tucked into any pocket or pouch you have. It's a smart design and a testament to ACEFAST’s ingenuity.

ACEFAST ACEFIT Air Wireless - Features and Performance

The ACEFAST ACEFIT Air Wireless offers more than a unique design. ACEFAST has constructed the speakers for the ACEFIT Air using a 3-magnet linear speaker system. This allows for a more dynamic driver experience, pushes greater amplitude with less power and helps reduce overall distortion, especially in the lower frequency range. While it sounds great on paper, it also tested exceptionally well in real life.

Frequency tests were impressive across the board. Considering the size of the speaker units with the open-ear design, I assumed that the ACEFIT Air Wireless would struggle to produce adequate sound. I couldn’t be more mistaken. Low frequencies came through clean and clear with virtually no distortion. The mids and highs, likewise, were clear and crisp with no notable noise or distortion.

Shifting to sound profile I was again impressed by the testing results. Music in particular sounded incredibly well balanced with the lows coming through nice and punchy without being overwhelming. The vocals sounded clean and represented the source well. The sound profile as a whole, is well rounded and full. Across the board, the Air Wireless sound is exceptional.

The one small critique of the Air Wireless has to do with sound leakage. While the official site promotes a zero sound leakage experience (meaning that the audio is so directed at the ear that others won’t hear your earbuds) this isn’t quite accurate. When testing this feature I did note that while it wasn’t distinguishable, audio could be heard from the earbuds by those sitting close to the user. To clarify, it wasn’t distracting or disruptive as it was only slightly noticeable. In almost any setting it would be indistinguishable from the white noise around the user. As they are advertised as a no sound leakage system though it is worth noting that while still impressive considering the design it’s not quite sound leakage-free.

Thanks to Bluetooth 5.4 support the Air Wireless can connect to two devices simultaneously. This allows for a tablet and phone connection, for example, allowing you to watch your favorite content on your tablet and then take a call on your phone by simply tapping the assigned earbud to answer. It's a slick system that works well. On the note of phone calls, the Air Wireless has ENC call noise reduction support which also works well. In call testing vocals came through loud and clear with minimal background noise.

Another quality-of-life feature included in the ACEFIT Air Wireless is the touch controls on each earbud. These can be assigned to either earbud via the ACEFAST mobile app (iOS and Android) and support an impressive amount of commands from volume to answering a call thanks to single, double triple tap and long press. It's easy to use and the only notable critique is that when adjusting the earbuds it's easy to bump the controls unintentionally.

The ACEFAST mobile app is serviceable and offers some basic features such as the aforementioned gesture programming as well as EQ settings. There are three preset EQ options available along with a custom EQ section. Unfortunately, there are no options to save multiple EQ profiles at this time. The app is fairly simple and offers basic accessibility and control for the ACEFAST ACEFIT Air.

Battery life on the ACEFIT Air Wireless is rated for 6 hours on a single charge with up to 25 hours of use via the carry case. This proved out in testing, with a fairly consistent 6-hour run time before dropping them back in the case for a charge. Charging the case from zero to 100% takes about two hours in total. While there are earbuds that get longer life with only 60mAh, the numbers are solid.

Final Thoughts

The ACEFAST ACEFIT Air Wireless earbuds are an impressive work of engineering. They provide incredible comfort and audio listening experience while offering many of the quality-of-life features I want in an earbud. Open ear design truly is a game-changer especially a design so incredibly light and thin. With a price of $79.99, the ACEFAST ACEFIT Air Wireless earbuds are worth considering.
