Hand of Fate Articles
Fate is a fickle thing. One minute you're chasing a fairy in an open field, and the next starving villagers are mobbing you for your food.
We have been under embargo for a few weeks about Hand of Fate 2. At GDC we got a great demo from the team and are excited to finally talk about the features coming with this sequel. If you are unfamiliar with Hand of Fate it combines a card game with action role playing aspects that make for a very unique gaming experience.
Fans of the unique RPG-TCG hybrid, Hand of Fate, will be pleased to know that a trio of updates have been deployed to the game and one more is promised before the end of 2015. The updates bring more content and adventures to players to extend the gameplay opportunities.
Hand of Fate is a deck building, action RPG where the cards come to life. Inspired by tarot and fantasy, all bets are off as you create your own journey by building a collection of cards used to deal out a boardgame-like dungeon teeming with enemies, treasure and adventure. Upon entering combat, the cards come to life as the player is propelled into a beautiful 3D environment to brawl it out with the foes of the land. Draw your cards, play your hand, and discover your fate. More Information:
One part board game, one part collectible card game, and one part computer role playing game, Hand of Fate is a witch’s brew concocted by Australian based developer Defiant Development who tossed all of these ingredients into a cauldron and ended up with a game that is as entertaining as it is addictive. It is also one of the most unique games I have played in a very long time.
