It looks like Guild Wars 2 Game Director, Mike Zadorojny, and VP of Marketing, Mike Silbowitz, have both departed ArenaNet.
The news was caught by Reddit which posted a screenshot (above) showing Mike’s new role at Wargaming, which is Head of Marketing. His LinkdedIn profile states he’s, “Building a team to help bring an exciting unannounced new game to market.”
Reddit had its usual replies, with several asking a variation on, “did ArenaNet have a marketing team,” like this comment,
“Wait, someone was doing marketing? I thought it was just a bunch of monkeys bashing the- Too rude? Sorry...”
Then a comment showed up which appeared to defend Silbowitz, but with a now-deleted username,
“You are all a bunch of idiots. For real. Even for reddit, the majority of comments around this dudes marketing have been positive but then all you asshats need to jump when he leaves and say he sucked. This dude has worked on some of the biggest campaigns in gaming but you losers chime in from your mother’s basements on things you know nothing about.
The poncho sucked but other then that...
Get a life!”
This rather odd news comes on the heels of the team teasing a third expansion.
