Nexon’s Riders of Icarus makes familiars, or tamable creatures, a central focus of the game. But it’s not only possible to tame creatures for use as mounts or pets, creatures can also be “sealed” in order to improve the stats on your gear. Today, we’ll be walking you through how to seal familiars in Riders of Icarus.
The first thing you’ll need to do is acquire seal stones. Common seal stones can be purchased at any general merchant, but if you’re looking to utilize elite or heroic seal stones, you’ll need to acquire the specific stone as a drop from its associated boss. Common seal stones will improve your items by boosting a single stat (say, +Strength), while elite and heroic seal stones will allow you to boost multiple stats at once.
Right clicking a seal stone will open the familiar window, and this is where you can select a familiar you’d like to seal into the stone. This consumes the familiar, so you probably don’t want to do this lightly.
Once you’ve sealed a familiar into the seal stone, you can alt+right click a piece of gear to insert the stone into one of its slots. That’s all there is to it!
It is possible to retrieve a sealed familiar by using a seal stone extractor, but it will return to you at level one. If you just want to remove a seal stone from your gear, you can alt+right click once again and simply drag the stone back out for a fee, though the familiar will be destroyed in the process. If you’re looking to retrieve familiars bound to elite or heroic seal stones, you’ll need to farm for elite or heroic seal stone extractors.
