Marvel SNAP fans know that each month brings a new season. We get a new season pass, new cards, and plenty of goodies across the month.
While October is all about being spooky with the Bloodstone theme, November is around the corner. But how you may ask, do we know about unannounced stuff in Marvel SNAP? Dataminers generally know everything a month or two early, and it makes its way to websites like Marvel Snap Zone.
While their database is expansive, Snap Zone is sometimes hard to parse all of the information being given. So, that’s what we will do here, based on what we know. November’s theme is all about the upcoming The Marvels movie with “Higher, Further, Faster.”
(Any of the three peach momoko cards work anywhere else you need them.)
Higher, Further, Faster Season Pass
The Higher, Further, Faster season pass finally brings in Ms. Marvel herself, Kamala Khan. Ms. Marvel packs a punch, being a 4-cost, 5-power card. But, her ability is really unique and requires some tactics to work best: “Ongoing: Adjacent locations where your cards have unique Costs have +5 Power.”
It seems to work best if you play Ms. Marvel in the middle location. As long as you play the right configuration of cards on the other locations, she works like a suped-up Mr. Fantastic.
As expected, the other two variants focused on for this season are Captain Marvel and Spectrum, the other two focal points of the upcoming movie. Since they both have cards readily available, the variants in the season pass showcase some beautifully drawn Peach Momoko artwork. Ms. Marvel’s level 50 variant is from the same artist.
You get the usual Credits, Gold, boosters, and mystery variants. But, the titles available for the season pass include “Fine, I’ll Start My Own Avengers” at level 9, “Do You Even Ram, Beau?” as a free title at level 27, and “Waiting For Goose Movie” at level 44.
You also earn a Spectrum cardback and a Ms. Marvel cardback. The Ranked Rewards level 100 Infinite reward will be a fancier, golden version of the Spectrum cardback. Still waiting for word on the Ranked level 40 title.
Additionally, the Conquest Medal Shop will have a focus on Psylocke and her Peach Momoko variant.
New Locations
Each month, special themed locations are introduced into the rotation of potential locales that you may encounter. But, they generally get spotlights for a period of time where they show up much more often than not.
For November, you’ll be able to find a couple of new locations: Noor Dimension and Tarnax IV. Both have roots in relevant characters to the Higher, Further, Faster.
The Noor Dimension is from the Ms. Marvel television show where the Djinn originated. In SNAP, the Noor Dimension has a simple trait: “After you play a card here, add a Djinn to your hand.” I’ll get to the Djinn later in this article.
Tarnax IV is from the comics. This is one of many homeworlds of the Skrulls (including the Super-Skrull), also known as the Throneworld. Captain Marvel (at the time, the hero Mar-Vell) and the Fantastic Four both dealt with this planet before Galactus eventually made it his afternoon snack.
Within the mobile game, Tarnax IV has an interesting ability. “After you play a card here, transform it into another card of the same Cost.” This essentially makes it a randomized free-for-all location. You play a card, it does its ability, and then transforms into a completely different card and does its ability as well. You’ll have to be careful with this one as anything can happen.
New Cards in November
Aside from Ms. Marvel, three other cards are premiering during November: Gladiator, Annihilus, and Martyr.
Gladiator is a good gamble card. His card reads: “On Reveal: Add a card from your opponent’s deck to their side of this location. If it has less Power, destroy it.”
With 3-cost and 7-power, he is a no-brainer to add to many decks. But, if you aren’t careful, it could lead to your downfall. Play him in a position where your opponent can’t add cards or after their deck has been milled and he’s an insane power boost for low cost.
Annihilus is an amazing addition to destroy decks. Sitting at 5-cost and 8-power, it’d be a great card to team up with Nimrod and Destroyer. If you can find a way to lower the costs of cards, such as using Electro, you may also find a way to fit Knull into the mix.
His ability is “On Reveal: Your cards with 0 or less Power switch sides. Destroy those that can’t.” If you’ve already used Ironheart, for instance, she’d be a great deadweight to toss onto your opponent. But, this could backfire if your opponent has Odin or similar cards.
Martyr is a tricky one. This 1-cost, 4-power card is the antithesis of Captain Marvel. Captain Marvel’s ability, for example, is “At the end of the game, move to a location that WINS you the game. (if possible)”. Martyr is the same ability, but you replace WINS with LOSES.
She’s a high-risk, high-reward card that could be added to decks, like Shanna Kazoo, that could keep her landlocked and unable to move.
You’ll be able to find all three across the month in Spotlight caches.
The Djinn card, mentioned earlier, that you get from the Noor Dimension location is also new. It’s a great 0-cost, 1-power card that has the On Reveal ability of “Next turn, you get +2 Energy.” This means that you play a card to earn a Djinn, play it the next turn, and then get +2 energy the next turn thereafter.
It’s a great strategy card that you can grab multiple early on by playing cards in the Noor Dimension and then time it out with your placement to get some great endgame boosts. Additionally, it should work if you stack them for turn 6 or later (if Magik is involved).
Marvel SNAP is available on Android, iOS, and Steam for PC.
