Grim Dawn Articles
Just a very quick Saturday note to let you all know that the Crate Entertainment team has posted that Grim Dawn has sold over a half a million copies of the game. For one of the earlier crowd-funded titles that just hit final release earlier this year and that has added builder tools since that time, that's a major feat!
The Grim Dawn forum has been updated with great news for fans. According to the team, "barring any unexpected complications", the Hidden Path will be ready for launch later this week alongside the next major patch update as well. In even larger news, however, is the announcement of an expansion seemingly called "The Crucible" that will launch in Summer 2016.
Grim Dawn players with a hankering for creating their own encounters will be happy to hear that the modding tools will be released later this week. These are the same tools that were used by the development team and are simple for beginners but with many features that advanced users will appreciate.
The Grim Dawn team is teasing its players with a forthcoming, free content expansion coming sometime in the near future. The forum post indicates that it should arrive later this month and is packed with lore for those who love the back story. "As Cairn crumbles, something stirs..."
Crate Entertainment has some fantastic news for players and fans of Grim Dawn with the announcement that modding tools will be coming soon. Builders will be able to take advantage of an Asset Manager tool, World Editor, Quest Editor, Conversation Editor, Database Editor, and a LUA Scripting tool. Crate is looking forward to seeing what players come up with and will be taking questions about the tools and featuring some "how to" instructions as the time for the release nears.
Crate Entertainment has finally released Grim Dawn, no small feat for an independent development studio that crowd-funded before crowd-funding was a big deal. With the game's release, fans of darkly themed ARPGs with deep levels of class customization and visceral combat tied to a great story have gotten at long last the "spiritual successor" to Diablo 2 that fans have been pining about for years.
Grim Dawn was originally kickstarted before Kickstarter became the boomtown it is now way back in 2012. Now, years later, the Action RPG from Crate Entertainment is finally leaving early access and launching in the wild (as of 2/25) for all to play and enjoy. Frankly, if you’re a fan of ARPGs, you will not want to miss this one.

As Grim Dawn finally prepares to leave Early Access on February 25th, Crate Entertainment has released a new trailer called "It's Listening to Us" to learn the story of the creepy and cataclysmic events detailing the "otherworldly being that has helped to orchestrate the downfall and destruction of humanity". It certainly sets the stage for the highly anticipated ARPG. Check it out!
The survivors in Devil's Crossing confront an otherworldly being that has helped to orchestrate the downfall and destruction of humanity. This being, a possessed human, is both enemy and victim though and the resolution of this confrontation sets up the player character's role and arrival in the game. Crate Entertainment has announced that Grim Dawn is now content complete after the release of Build 29. As a result, players looking forward to the ARPG can expect the game to finally exit Early Access in February.
We just got back from PAX East, and one of the games I took a good look at at was a slick ARPG called Grim Dawn. Currently in production by Crave Entertainment, Grim Dawn is very reminescent of old-school Diablo and Diablo two, with a dark color palette, and some very neat ideas. Now, I must confess to having a soft spot for ARPGs, and any game in the same vein as the venerated Diablo I and II is going to strike very near my heart.
