Crate Entertainment announced the Forgotten Gods expansion yesterday but a new piece of information has come to light: The Ashes of Malmouth DLC will be required in order to play the upcoming expansion. Forgotten Gods is expected to be released in late 2018.
As promised, Crate Entertainment has announced the second expansion for its wildly successful Grim Dawn. Called Forgotten Gods, the new content will send players "beyond the bounds of the Erulan Empire" in order to "reach the sun beaten ruins of a city with secrets that should never have been disturbed".
In a brief post on the Grim Dawn Facebook page, Crate Entertainment devs are preparing the community for a "MAJOR announcement" for March 5th. The post begins by looking back at the two years since Grim Dawn's release from early access and the 200,000 copies it has sold since then. "Grim Dawn is still growing. We are very excited to share some upcoming news with you, so be sure to stop by on 03/05/18 for a MAJOR announcement!"
The latest major update has been deployed to Grim Dawn. With the patch, players will find the Ancient Grove, a brand new roguelike dungeons to challenge even the hardiest of adventurers. Inside the Ancient Grove, players will encounter four new Monster Infrequents and can find a pair of Unique items as well as a new Mythical Relic Blueprint.

In case you missed it yesterday, Grim Dawn has expanded with the Ashes of Malmouth DLC. Some of the notable features include a level cap increase, two new class masteries (Necromancer & Inquisitor), two new story chapters, four new factions, new constellations, new items / skill modifiers, a rogue-like dungeon, a larger stash and much more.

Crate has finally announced the name of the Grim Dawn expansion. The expansion is called "Ashes of Malmouth" and, while there is no release date, developers did say it is "fast approaching". Malmouth is a ruined city, one of the first to fall during the cataclysmic events of Grim Dawn.
The Grim Dawn forum has a new update that contains some big news for players looking forward to the upcoming expansion. Play testing has, according to the post, officially begun. Those who have been chosen to check out the expansion content, are seeing approximately 50% of what will be included. In this issue, the team gives a preview of some of the forthcoming Epic Ensembles players will be able to assemble. Four sets are show including a Necromancer / Shaman set, an Inquisitor / Nightblade set, a pure Necro set and the Luminari Regalia, a pure Inquisitor set.
