Grand Theft Auto Online

Grand Theft Auto Online (GTA Online) is the multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto V. While you must own GTAV in order to play GTA Online, Rockstar games consider GTA Online its own product and has been supporting it with DLC and updates since 2013. Though individual game sessions only have up to 30 people at any one time, millions of players partake in the persistent worlds, character building, and progression.

There are nearly a dozen different game modes, a creator for fan-made content, and the fantastically sandbox and hectic "Open Mode". GTA Online has become a juggernaut on Twitch, with players Role-Playing their characters as real people in Los Santos, from cops to robbers to everything in between.
