May Newsletter - MMORPG.com

The May issue of the Gods and Heroes newsletter is now available. This month they take a look at the Dactyli and their evolution in the game, explore the region of Armentalius on the Tiber River, take a peak at the minion system, and much more.

Greetings all, I wanted to relate a little information to you all from a recent experience I had with while demonstrating Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising at the SOE Gamers Day Event in Los Angeles, CA.

I've always known the minion system was special and a great concept for an MMO, but I never really realized how awesome it actually was until I was explaining it to people and got to see their reaction and hear the excitement in their voice as they were able to wrap their heads around how minions impact gameplay.

First off, because this type of system is new, it is a little hard to understand how it will work and how it will impact gameplay. What I really want to talk about here is how you control your minions in and out of combat. Before I get into that though, I want to preface all of this with the fact that the very system that I am telling you about, is changing. It will be changing in a big way, for the better, and based on feedback from the Core Testers as well as our own internal audit of the systems of Gods & Heroes. I wanted to give you insight into this system so you have a reference as to how far we have come and how much we have changed when we unveil the new minion system in the coming months.
