One of the Core Beta Testers for Gods and Heroes shares their experience, including the escape to Telchinos Island.

Since my last entry, my character has now escaped imprisonment and made her way to Telchinos Island. One of the interesting things is the escape itself. There are three different escape routes that are shared between the classes. For example, Gladiator and Soldier share the same section of the prison and they both use the same escape route; the same goes with Priests and Mystics.

Out of everyone, the Scout class has the most interesting escape. Envision entering a cave, high on top of a mountain with water flowing beneath your feet. As you move toward the exit, you discover a nice view of the harbor and parts of Telchinos Island down below, as far as the eye can see. The only way for you to escape is to jump down into the rushing waterfall to the body of water below. Very fun stuff!

PE's art team has succeeded in making the game look almost as if you are walking within a living oil painting. That's the best I can describe it, but it is unbelievably beautiful. As everyone knows, graphics aren't everything, but they sure do help.

To answer a question I saw on the board, my system is more of an aging mid-level system: Amd64 3400, 2 gigs of ram, Nvidia 7800GS (agp). I can run the game one step below maxed out with shadows on. I get a little sluggish in a few zones that have a lot of detail, but not enough to where I need to turn down my graphics. PE just switched hardware and I have a feeling its due to optimization of their new system hardware. For the most part I run pretty smooth on my system. I've had the occasional crash but I think it's on the server side. I've never had a hard lock up that forced me to reboot, although I may log in and out during an eight hour play/test session a couple of times to fix a loading problem or straighten out my minions.
