The Gigantic page has been updated with a new developer blog penned by Darrin Claypool, Senior Level Designer with Motiga. In the post, Claypool reveals the design process behind map creation for Motiga's version of MOBA.
The next Gigantic closed beta weekend will officially kick off on Thursday, October 20th and will run through Sunday, October 23rd. The weekend will also feature a number of live streaming events with some of the game's best players and a number of on-air visits from the Gigantic team. The CBT event is open to both PC and XBox One players with anyone invited to sign up for possible inclusion.

Motiga and Perfect World Entertainment have sent out word to all of last weekend's stress testers that another round is scheduled for Saturday, July 9th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Pacific / 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm Eastern. XBox One, Windows 10 and Arc players who took part are invited back in to test out some of the changes and tweaks made by the Gigantic team since the last test.
The Gigantic site has been updated with a long list of changes coming to the game just in time for the next stress test scheduled for early July. Players who have taken part in earlier testing opportunities should find a lot to like in the next update, many in direct response to player feedback.
Perfect World Entertainment and Motiga have announced that fans of Gigantic will have a chance to see the latest iteration of the game during a stress test event to be held on Thursday, June 30th. Players can sign up on the Gigantic site or via the Arc Gigantic page. Those selected will be able to pre-load the client prior to the test so they can hit the ground running on the 30th.
Motiga and Perfect World Entertainment have announced a publication deal to bring Gigantic to the Arc Games platform to expand the game's reach beyond the previous availability for Windows 10 and XBox One.
Motiga has a new post about how the Gigantic team is preparing the game for the future. Based on feedback from both the closed beta community and the core community that participates in actual development of the game, developers will be focused on a number of tasks to prepare the game for another round of testing.
A new article has been posted on the Motiga web site by Chris Chung that reveals that a significant percentage of the studio staff has been temporarily laid off. The letter goes on to say that the company intends to continue to support Gigantic, but that the lay offs will have a huge impact on every portion of the game.
Beginning today, Gigantic closed beta testers can begin to write, speak about and stream their experiences with the game during the ongoing 24/7 closed beta test. Gigantic Beta 2.0 has just been introduced that brings the Crew (party) system on board, cross platform play between Win10 and XBox One players and the new progression system with its in-game currencies and account-wide benefits are also included.
Motiga is ready to hit the ground running and to get things off with a bang by introducing Gigantic's newest hero, Beckett. We're not joking when we say 'get things off with a bang' as Beckett is armed to the teeth with just about every type of firearm and explosive imaginable.
The Gigantic team took to Reddit last week to answer community questions about the recent revelations of company layoffs and the delay of the game. Questions ranged from whether or not the presence of an NDA hurt Gigantic's visibility to new gameplay modes to a content release timeline.
Motiga's Creative Director James Phinney has penned a new developer letter on the company's site that discusses the vision behind Gigantic, that it is something unique and special. It is, he writes, "not re-imagining the last big thing. We are striving to build the next big thing."
Motiga's development team is sadly shrinking as the end of the year approaches. Due to feedback from Gigantic testers, the difficult decision was made to push the release of the game into 2016. Consequently, and with resources stretched thin, the painful decision was also made to reduce the staff by sixteen.
