The Fractured team has let its community know that Alpha 1 - Test 2 will be kicking off on Wednesday, July 10th at 7:00 am Pacific / 10:00 am Eastern. Developers have been hard at work addressing community feedback and squashing bugs from the first test that was held in April. In addition, housing, crafting, spells, new equipment and creatures have all been added for Test 2.
With the first successful Fractured alpha event in the bag, developers are looking ahead to Alpha 1 - Test 2 that is currently scheduled to begin in June. The summer alpha will include a number of bug fixes and quality of life improvements. In the intervening months, devs will be working on several systems including the expansion of the Housing system, updates to the world including the Deadwoods zone and a number of technical improvements.
When Fractured hits its first alpha phase on April 10th, it will be the first time "high tier" backers of the game will be able to get in and try it out for themselves and, best of all, it will not be covered by an NDA during its weeklong duration. Backers at the Knight level and higher will have access to Test 1, with a second testing phase coming in Q2 2019 and possibly open to more players.
The Fractured site has been updated with a look back at all the team accomplished in 2018. The list is a long one that includes bits about the game map, texture improvements, graphical upgrades, as well as a number of newly added components including biomes, creatures, housing, land claims, building, characters and much more. The letter ends up with a brief discussion of the kerfuffle between Improbable and Unity that ultimately ended up being "much ado about nothing".
The Fractured team is ready to show off the game to a select few starting November 30th. The first round of pre-alpha invites have been sent out with more emails heading out throughout December and January. Players currently slated for invitations that are in the top 100 members of The Foundation, a structure that rewards players for participating in a variety of activities in and around the site.
Earlier this year, Dynamight Studios successfully completed a Fractured KickStarter campaign. In order to allow fans who might have missed an opportunity to contribute to the development of Fractured, Dynamight has opened an on-site store with "replicas of the pledge packs" that were found in the KickStarter campaign. The goal is to "double its total funding (currently $250k) by the end of Alpha 1" that is currently slated for December.
The Fractured KickStarter campaign has about two days to go and has met its funding its goal. Over the final hours of the fundraising campaign, Dynamight developers will be on hand with a pair of live stream events. One will take place on Monday, July 23rd at 1:00 pm Pacific / 4:00 pm Eastern, the other at the same time on Tuesday, July 24th. Topics will include races, planets, housing and building. Both events will be held in the Fractured YouTube channel.
The latest KickStarter update has been published on the Fractured site. Readers will learn about the different ways that players can experience the game including being a "lone wolf" to hundreds of players living together in a player-created town. As the blog says, "having a base of operation is something really desirable for all players".

Dynamight has taken a new position with regard to Fractured servers. Originally, the team planned to host the game on a single server located in North America. After receiving community feedback, the plan is to utilize regional servers as the game grows. In addition, Fractured will be localized into seven languages alongside English: Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Spanish, French, German and Italian.
The Fractured team is going to be unleashing a ton of information about the game this week that marks the final week for the KickStarter initiative. With the campaign already at 76% complete, it's a great time to check out everything the team will be offering up this week. The week kicks off later today with a live Q&A via YouTube that will be centered on crafting and building in Fractured.
The Fractured site has been updated with a new roadmap that includes the team's plans for taking the game from pre-alpha to launch. The map shows that pre-alpha would take place in October of this year, with a year's worth of alpha testing throughout 2019. 2020 and into 2021 would be devoted to beta testing with full launch targeting a Q3 2021 release. Dynamight developers will be on hand on Tuesday, July 3rd for a special livestream event and Q&A session about Fractured. The event will take place in the Fractured YouTube channel starting at 1:00 pm Pacific / 3:00 pm Eastern with the topic centering on how both travel and survival mechanics work in game.
