Epic Games Tim Sweeney made a surprise announcement at this week's Game Developers Conference: Fortnite will be heading to live service in 2017. Technically he said "in the year ahead" but later confirmed that 2017 is indeed Fortnite's year. According to attendees, the announcement came as a shock and without the usual game convention hoopla.
Fortnite has been quietly chugging along in its development since 2011 when it was first revealed.
There's not much else to say but we're hoping this means that more about the game will be revealed and more opportunities to play will come along.
