Fortnite has been updated across all of its many versions. The most interesting updates have come in Save the World where players will be faced with an army of mini-bosses in a new Wargames Simulation if they do not manage to destroy the Mist Pods in time. In addition, StW players can check out the Dinosaur Constructor because "Jurassic times call for Jurassic measures".
On June 15-16, 2019, Fortnite fans will be gathering at The Forum in Inglewood, California for the first-ever Summer Block Party. Some of the game's biggest celebrities and content creators will be on hand including Ninja, Brendon Urie of Panic! At the Disco, Dillon Francis, KittyPlays, and Cray and Jordan Fischer. Tickets are currently on sale for $35 and provide access to both days' events.
Fortnite Battle Royale Season 9 is ready to kick off with the new Battle Pass. Players can get hold of the pass for 950 V-Bucks and it features one hundred levels and over one hundred brand new rewards. Players will find some pretty cool new content too including the Slipstream wind transportation system, Neo Tilted and Mega Mall locations, and the new Combat Shotgun. To showcase the new content, Epic has sent out a preview trailer.
Epic Games is proving that nothing is safe in Fortnite after last night's destruction of Tilted Towers. The volcano that has been active since Season 8. It's eruption not only took out the popular Tilted Towers location but also damaged Retail Row, Greasy Grove and Polar Peak. All this comes just days ahead of the start of Season 9 on May 9th.
Thanos and the Chitauri are back in Fortnite Battle Royale with the arrival of the v8.50 update and in celebration of this weekend's release of the blockbuster film. The limited time mode sends a team of "Hero" players off to stop Team Thanos from taking the Infinity Stones. Heroes will be searching for Mythic Avengers items during the fight with the ultimate goal of destroying the Chitauri and defeating Thanos himself.
Epic is expanding its tournament offerings with a new event called Fortnite World Cup - Creative. Community Creators will be working to put together devious and interesting maps. During five events, each focused on a new Creative game, fifteen players will be selected to compete for a share of a $3,000,000 Creative prize pool.
Fortnite Battle Royale players will take to the skies now that today's update is complete. In the Air Royale Limited Time Mode, players will be able to "pilot the X-4 Stormwing" and will be dog fighting their way through the war-torn skies to be the last plane flying. In addition, players can complete "free Challenges to unlock brand new Wraps as you rule the skies".
Fortnite Battle Royale has been updated to bring the Buccaneer's Bounty event into the game. Each day of the event, players will be able to take part in a different limited time mode and "collect your very own treasure in the form of in-game rewards by completing free Challenges". In addition to the event, players can also check out the Fly Explosives and Team Rumble LTMs, take to the road in the new Reboot Van and cheer on their favorite players in the Fortnite World Cup Online Open Week.
Britain's Prince Harry has come out publicly calling for a ban of Fortnite. The comments were made at a West London YMCA where he further elaborated that games like Fortnite are designed to addict youngsters. "The game shouldn't be allowed. Where is the benefit of having it in your household?" he said. It's created to addict, an addiction to keep you in front of a computer for as long as possible. It's so irresponsible."
Fortnite Battle Royale has been updated to 8.20 that brings a new Limited Time Mode into the game that literally gives players a hotfoot. Called Floor is Lava, players are going to have to keep moving and try to defend their spot on the high ground away from the burning depths. It's a "spicy new LTM".
Fortnite has been updated to v8.11 across all of its game types. Battle Royale players can get hold of the Flint-Knock Pistol, a blunderbuss weapon that can knock opponents back. In addition, "One Shot" is the new limited time mode with some interesting mechanics including low gravity, sniper rifles only, and only 50 health per player. Lastly, Gauntlet Solo Event and Gauntlet Duo Test Event will run for 24-hours each on March 19th and March 23rd.
Fortnite has been updated to bring The Baller, a new vehicle type, into the game. This unique vehicle allows players to combine boost and grapple "to perform unbelievable feats". In addition, new vending machines are present that can hand out free things, but "only provide one item/weapon before disappearing".
Epic Games has added new Treasure Maps to Fortnite Battle Royale that sends players off on a hunt for "hidden loot across the island". Players will find "a trove of legendary loot" after using a pickaxe to dig up the loot. In addition to the maps, players can take part in the Slide Duos LTM and check out the Gauntlet Solo Test Event and the Gauntlet Duo Test Event tournaments.
Fortnite Battle Royale has been updated to Season 8 that brings the new Battle Pass on board. Players can earn over a hundred new rewards including the wicked Blackheart pirate skin (YARR!). Season 8 comes along with some big changes to the map including "a monstrous volcano" where "pirates, ninjas and a ship load of new fighters will tussle over treasure, battle with Pirate Cannons and uncover legendary loot".
It's something that hasn't been seen or heard of in more than a few months, but it appears that Fortnite's month-over-month revenue has declined by nearly 50% in January. The news came via the latest Super Data Research report that also reveals that sales of Fortnite are "still up signficantly year-over-year".
