With Shadowbringers’ launch looming ever closer, Square Enix has pulled out all the stops with its press viewings of the game. I was one of the lucky few invited out to be one of the first to play the expansion. To say I wasn’t overwhelmed would be a lie, the shear amount of content available was substantial. A lot of changes are coming, and I won’t be covering them all.
Today in Las Vegas, Square Enix pulled back the veil on their newest upcoming expansion to the incredibly popular MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV. Titled “Shadowbringers,” Final Fantasy’s newest expansion brings players to the brink of finally taking down the Garlean Empire.
A couple of weeks ago I attended a media event for Stormblood and spent the day playing in some of the new zones, trying out Samurai & Red Mage, checking out the new job gauges, and playing one of the new dungeons which will be coming with Stormblood. I also had the opportunity to interview Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) to learn some more information not only about the expansion but also about some of their plans moving on past this expansion. The Samurai is one of the new jobs coming to Final Fantasy XIV when its Stormblood expansion launches on June 20th. Along with a whole game’s worth of story content, a level cap raise, new dungeons, the new Red Mage job, swimming, new raid, and so much more – the Samurai is eagerly anticipated as one of the most wanted parts of the Stormblood expansion.
