FFXIV May Hit Xbox, Talks Between Square Enix and Phil Spencer During E3 - MMORPG.com

If the latest interview from SpieleTipps (via Reddit) is to be believed, FFXIV may hit Xbox.

The site is in German, but translation from an interview with Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida states the following when asked about FFXIV coming to either Nintendo Switch or Xbox,

“Currently you can play Final Fantasy 14 on PlayStation 4 and the PC. Some of our users have been interested in whether there are any efforts to publish the game on other platforms. In fact, we have been talking to the respective distributors for some time, Yoshida tells us.

In the course of this year's E3, there were personal discussions with Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft's Xbox division. Square Enix has a very good relationship with the company. Although details need to be negotiated, Yoshida hopes to be able to send good news to players soon. As it seems, so is to be expected with a port of Final Fantasy 14. About a possible port for Nintendo Switch, however, we did not receive accurate information.”
