Every year, gamers celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas in their favorite MMOs, but the holiday fund doesn’t have to end there. February events may not be as well known as the big holidays, but this year, many MMOs are celebrating a pair of events - Valentine’s Day and the Lunar New Year. Whether you’re looking for love or loot, our Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year roundup has all the best events you’ll find this month.
Aion - Exciting Valentine’s Day
Aion’s Exciting Valentine’s Day Event runs through March 6th. Until then, players can talk to Shugo Chocrinerk in the Guardian Garrison or Archon Garrison in Aphsaranta to get the Chocrinerk’s Desire quest. Kill 10 members of the opposite faction, and you’ll receive 4X Unknown Feelings, which can be turned in to receive either a Right Heart or Left Heart. Collect both to get a Complete Heart. Finally, turn in the Complete Heart to be rewarded with the Love Bundle.
Players can also visit Saint Valentine to pick up a buff for just 1 Kinah that will grant 3500 HP, +2% attack speed, and more.
Aion Classic - Celentine Days
Aion Classic is combining Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year into a single event - Celentine Days. Locate and feed Decupid in the capitals of Sanctum and Pandaemonium to earn daily rewards.
Albion Online - Lunar New Year Sale
Grab the Panda Direbear Skin for Lunar New Year. Never before available in-store, the Panda Direbear Skin is part of a bundle that also includes 90 days of Premium Status and 500 gold. The deal is available through February 25th.
Broken Ranks - Valentine’s Day Party 2024
Love is in the air in Broken Ranks. The annual Valentine’s Day mini-event gives players a chance to earn the Valentine’s Day legguards skin Temptations. To join the event, just talk to the Administrator of de Vries Estate and he will ask for your help in organizing the de Vries Estate Valentine’s Day party. And be sure to talk to the Quartermaster to get even more prizes. Just in case you can’t log in on February 14th, the event will run for a full week, ending on February 21st.
DC Universe Online - Love Conquers All
Mister Freeze is trying to harness the power of Zamaron crystals to bring his wife Nora back this Valentine’s Day, but the misuse of the crystals could result in the destruction of Gotham City! Open your On Duty menu and find Love’s Battlefield under the Events tab to either help Mister Freeze (Villains), or answer the Star Sapphires’ call to stop him (Heroes).
For more Valentine’s Day fun, visit the heart next to Hal Jordan or Mister Freeze in the House of Legends to pick up the daily Valentine’s Day mission, Get Your Heart Racing, and speak with Mera by tracking Sea of Love in your mission journal for even more prizes.
Dungeons & Dragons Online - Year of the Dragon
It may not be a Valentine’s Day event, but I still love this event anyway. DDO is celebrating 50 years of Dungeons & Dragons, so they aren’t settling for some small event. DDO’s Year of the Dragon event will last all year. Beginning on February 28th, you can claim a limited-time drop, the Dragon Lord archetype. Then, on the last Wednesday of every month, a new ‘draconic’ gift will become available.
As an added bonus, players can redeem the code FREEDDO2024 in the in-game store to receive a huge list of quest packs for free. Hurry, though, as the code only works until Sunday, February 18th.
EVE Online - Lunar New Year
Eve Online is celebrating the Lunar New Year with two great deals running through February 19th. The Dragon Scale Pack is packed with a selection of Empyrean Dragon SKINs and apparel, while the Wealth and Wisdom Pack includes 1 month of Omega time, 800 PLEX, and much more. The former pack runs $37.79 and the latter is $53.39
Everquest - Erollisi Day
Running through February 20th, this event starts by seeking out the Emissary of Erollisi and Grimble Grumblemaker on the Plane of Knowledge. Players will also find a 15% discount on the Marketplace throughout the event as well.
Fallout 76 - Fasnacht
The Burning Love event ran through February, but there’s still plenty to celebrate in Falllout 76. Running through February 27th, Fasnacht is your chance to join the Mardi Gras-esque parade through Helvetia as the locals celebrate the incineration of Old Man Winter. Complete the event and you have a chance to win rewards both new and old.
Final Fantasy XIV - Valentione’s Day
Astrid needs your help with the Symbol of Love quest. Anyone level 15 and up can find her in Old Gridania at X:10.2 Y:9.2. The event runs through February 21st.
Guild Wars 2 - Wintersday 2023
The annual Lunar New Year celebration is Guild Wars 2’s first festival of 2024. Head over to Divinity’s Reach to enjoy fireworks, participate in games, and sample some delicious Canthan food. If having a good time isn’t enough reward to turn your head, players will also have the chance to collect their choice of weapon from the new Fortunate weapon collection, a Dragon Descendant’s Helm, a dragon-themed backpack, and more!
Neverwinter - Heartfelt Pack of Love
You have until Thursday, February 22nd to pick up the Heartfelt Pack of Love Zen Bundle from the Zen Store. The bundle includes 5000 Zen, an account-bound Levely Emperor Beetle legendary Mount, and more. This is a one-time per account purchase, so if you already purchased it during last year’s sale, you will be heartbroken this year.
New World - Year of the Dragon
Experience New World’s second micro event as Aeternum celebrates the Lunar New Year. Running through February 20th, players can earn great rewards as they enjoy fireworks, join a Tribute Run, and more. You can also pick up all five pieces of the Named Dynasty New Year Armor by killing the Corrupted Maiden.
Palia - Luna New Year
Ring in the Luna New Year with the return of the Maji Market to Palia. The Kilima Village Fairgrounds will host the Maji Market the entire month of February. The new and improved Maji Market includes old favorites along with a new questline centered on the Luna New Year, a hotpot minigame, make a wish at the Wish Tree, and spin Zeki’s Prize Wheel.
Star Citizen - Coramor 2954 and the Red Festival
Just like Valentine’s Day, Star Citizen’s Coramor 2954 uses love as a guise to hawk all sorts of goods, including starter packs, paint jobs, armor, and more; much, much more. In similar fashion, the Red Festival will have you opening your wallet quicker than you can say Happy New Year!
World of Warcraft - Love is in the Air and Lunar Festival
When you are the most popular MMO around, it’s easy to double-dip and have two events running simultaneously. First, Love is in the Air runs through February 19th for both Retail and Classic. This year we get a revamped event, including new quests, locations, and rewards. Holiday items up for grabs include the flying mount X-45 Heartbreaker, multiple pets, and other equipment.
The Lunar Festival is also underway and ends on February 17th. Head over to Moonglade to join in the festivities, which include the annual return of the great wolf Omen, the Lunar Festival main questline, and set off some fireworks in the Lunar Fireworks quest. Prizes include three Dragon Costumes, pets, toys, and heirloom items, to name but a few.
