Todd Howard Knew There Would be 'Well-Deserved Criticism' for Fallout 76

IGN has a new "unfiltered" interview with Bethesda's Todd Howard where he acknowledges the rough start to Fallout 76. Howard admits that the company knew that FO76 was "going to have a lot of bumps", though he attributes the rough patches to "new systems and things like that".


Fallout 76 Introduces Players to an Open World Co-Op Event Called Project Paradise

Earlier this week, Fallout 76 was updated to bring the new Project Paradise event into the game. Project Paradise allows players to take part in a cooperative venture with others. When the event opens up, players will head to the "cavernous Biome Labs" that lay beneath Arktos Pharma. The goal is to work with other players to feed and protect the Appalachian creatures in the experimental labs. Doing so will yield high-end loot and XP for players at level 50+.


New Fallout 76 Inside the Vault Introduces The Purveyor

A new vendor will be heading into Fallout 76 on May 16th who is ready to exchange players' Legendary Scrip for some pretty amazing items. The Purveyor is a mysterious hooded figure representing the Mole Miners. She is the first of her kind to venture to the surface and is ready to sell weapons and armor "to Dwellers from her vast stockpile of legendary items". Her presence allows players a way to target specific Legendaries.


Player Vending Machines & a New NPC Coming to Fallout 76 in Patch 9

When Patch 9 rolls out into Fallout 76, players will find a whole new way to earn a bit of scratch on the side. Player Vending Machines can be placed in a player's C.A.M.P. to turn them "into makeshift markets" for other players. Players can sell both unneeded items or crafted goods. Vending Machines will appear on the game map to assist buyers as long as the seller isn't Wanted. Players set Cap prices and, once an item sells, will collect that amount minus 10% "to maintain a healthy economy".


Fallout 76 Players Can Take Home a Pair of Free Gifts

The Fallout 76 Atomic Shop is handing its players a pair of free gifts that will be available for an indeterminate amount of time. Players will be able to claim the Gift Emot and the Punch Bowl. The Gift Emote "lets other Dwellers know when you're feeling generous" and the Punch Bowl is a great C.A.M.P. accessory.


You Will Soon be Able to Join the Ranks of the Pioneer Scouts & Equip Moddable Backpacks

When the next Fallout 76 update goes live on May 7th, players will be able to join up with the Pioneer Scouts! In the days before the Great War, only children could belong. Today, however, membership is open to all. Those who join will be able to set off on a number of quests to "demonstrate their core values: kindness, helpfulness, bravery, and growth". Players can even earn badges in cooking, swimming, archery, and athletics to name a few. Badges can then be traded for themed C.A.M.P. items.


Basic Repair Kits & New Camera Functionality Added in Latest Fallout 76 Update

The latest Wild Appalachia patch has been added to Fallout 76. The patch includes Basic Repair Kits added to the Atomic Shop, Improved Repair Kits added to the drop tables in-game, several balance adjustments and the new ProSnap Deluxe Camera. Players will need to find and equip the camera "to snap photos more easily than ever before". It also comes with the Bucket List quest that sends players off on an adventure to complete camera-specific challenges.


Bethesda Teasing Next Month's Fallout 76 Changes & Additions Coming in May

The Bethesda Blog has been updated with some new information about new features and changes coming to Fallout 76 in May. Players can look forward to new weekly challenges and rewards in Survival Mode, including six legendary weapons. The team is also looking for feedback about recent tweaks to the Survival Mode Scoreboard and what the "community feels are the most impactful" stats that should be reflected.


Today's Fallout 76 Patch Brings Plenty of Controversy Over Basic Repair Kits

When the next Fallout 76 update goes live later today, it brings controversy with it. Bethesda has been under fire for the last week or so for putting Basic Repair Kits into the in-game shop, something many players feel is "pay to win". Basic Repair Kits can be purchased with premium currency (Atoms) which can be obtained at a slow rate through gameplay but can also be bought with real money. Some players believe that purchasing Atoms with cash in order to buy Basic Repair Kits is "P2W".


Next Wild Appalachia Update for Fallout 76 Sends Players on a Mystery-Laden Quest

When the next Wild Appalachia update is deployed to Fallout 76, players will have a new questline called Lying Lowe where they are sent off on a game-wide search for clues. Lying Lowe is "an all-new questline that's shrouded in mystery, deception, and rumors of a ferocious cryptid roaming the Wasteland". Players will need to read a series of posters and unravel their meaning in order to work their way to "Sheepsquatch", the "fabled wooly terror of West Virginia".


Bethesda to Bring Fallout 76 to Steam 'Later This Year'

Bethesda has announced that a number of its games are headed to Steam. This includes RAGE 2, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot and DOOM Eternal in the near future. In addition, Fallout 76 will be coming to steam "later this year".


Survival Mode is Coming to Fallout 76 Next Week & Here's a Preview

The Bethesda Blog has been updated with a new Fallout 76 article to preview Survival Mode that will be present in the game starting March 26th. This is a separate game mode from the main game and features much fewer PvP restrictions. In addition, there will be scoreboards so players can keep track of their kill streaks and weekly challenges that will award "legendary rewards".


First Wild Appalachia Content Release in Fallout 76 Delayed One Day to March 13th

Bethesda has updated the Fallout 76 Reddit with a brief post to let the community know that the first content update in the Wild Appalachia series is delayed one day. It will now be available on March 13th on all platforms. "We just need a little more time to brew," the post reads.


Fallout 76 Patch 7 to Include Creepy Masks Earned During Fasnacht Parade Event

When Patch 7 lands in Fallout 76, players will be able to earn some wickedly creepy masks in thanks for their participation in the seasonal event called the Fasnacht Parade. The event celebrates the end of frosty weather through the "burning of an effigy of Old Man Winter". The parade event will start on March 19th and will run for a week. Players can repeat the content which includes "party prep", finding decorations and taking out pests that threaten the event.


Wastin' Away in Margaritaville Fallout 76 Style - Become the Ultimate Bartender

When Wild Appalachia launches in March, Fallout 76 will have a nifty new addition that can make them the Jimmy Buffet of the Wasteland. Players will follow a questline called "Wasted on Nukashine" that sends them off to meet Biv, "Appalachia's tipsiest robot", who will teach them the fine art of crafting "illicit Nukashine" using the newly added Brewing Station.
