  • Five Takeaways from QuakeCon About PvP

Quakecon had a lot of information for fans. Fallout 76 was on the radar and part of their panel talked a lot about the PvP system. This is an immensely important part of the game because Fallout in all of its glory had never really gone multi-player, let alone host PvP. With the market dominated by competitive games right now, Fallout known for its solo adventures and strong narratives, will finally take the leap. Here are five take-ways from Todd Howard’s comments.

  • The Pros & Cons of Fallout 76

Initially, my feelings on Fallout 76 could be best described as cautiously optimistic. The basic premise of the game appealed to me and I didn’t find too many issues with the E3 announcement or what I learned from the Noclip documentary, but since then, things have gotten a bit more complicated. The messaging has been kind of all over the place from Bethesda and the more time I have to think about things, the more I wonder how it will all pan out.

  • The Post E3 Era – Fallout 76 and Online Games

The MMO has come a long way. There have been many iterations over the years and there is no denying the huge influence our genre has had on the industry as a whole. These talks were given as far back as 2006 or 2007. Now here we are in 2018 and E3 showed us that all games will be MMOs... in some way or another.

  • Three Things I Want from Fallout 76

Fallout 76 stole a lot of the “show” at E3 last week. How could an always online multiplayer Fallout not do that? Still, there’s a lot about this upcoming game we don’t know, despite the interviews and previews coming out of the big reveal. We know it’ll have PVP, we know it’ll have PVE, and we know that’ll be very much a Fallout game, just in an always online and persistent world. Here then are five things I want from Fallout 76 to make it worth playing.

With Bethesda’s Fallout 76 presentation at E3, fans are already pumped for the next entry in the franchise. Red Thomas steps in to crush dreams and incite nerd-rage by explaining how the game won’t be exactly what a lot of folks seem to be expecting.

  • Thoughts on E3 2018 So Far

Over the past two years E3 has come and gone with some big announcements, still it never shook gaming to its core. In 2018 everyone had predicted an E3 of battle royale clones. No one thought we would see story driven games again, but we got it wrong. Companies are betting on games fueled with narrative titles like: The Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Cyberpunk 2077. The best news of all, the major announcement from E3, is an MMO set in Fallout.
