Version 1.2 of Fallen Earth is now live! This latest update to the post-apocalyptic MMORPG features a social theme, indeed, it is called the "Social Patch" and introduces a number of new features to that end.

For example, players can now build camps out in the wilderness that serve as hubs for players to gather around, receive buffs, and even trade with merchants. The update also introduces Bunker Bars to the game, which are fixed social hubs along the same vein as player camps, but also feature a number of social activities such as gambling through the use of slot machines and blackjack machines.

The launch of version 1.2 also marks the beginning of this year's holiday event "First Night" in Fallen Earth. During "First Night" players can undertake special holiday missions at the various "First Night" mission hubs dotted throughout the wasteland. Completing these holiday missions will result in some unique rewards for players, such as top hats (including a rare white top hat!), buffs, and other assorted goodies.

Also, we'd like to remind our readers in the US military that a 20% discount is being offered for US military personnel with a verifiable .mil e-mail address. This is only being offered for customers who purchase the game through the digital download version on the official Fallen Earth website.

For more information on the 1.2 "Social Patch" check out the dev diary video running over at IGN, or the patch notes available here for the full rundown.
