Daybreak will be pulling out all the stops in celebration of EverQuest's 19th birthday. On Friday, March 16th, players can log in to take part in special anniversary missions including "Lost but Not Forgotten", "A Formal Dinner Party", "Pieces is Pieces", and "Fish Eyes in the Dark". There is also a new mount available as well as content from anniversaries past, new Marketplace offerings, a special live stream planned for March 16th and more.
EverQuest has expanded for the 24th time with the arrival of Ring of Scale. The storyline started in Empires of Kunark is brought to a close in the new content that also sees a level cap increase to 110, six new zones to check out, nine new raids, tons of missions and quests, and the addition of new spells, combat abilities and alternate advancements.
Not only has Frostfell descended in EverQuest II, but it's also present in EverQuest. The annual celebration will run from now through January 7th with players able to take part in a ton of winter revelry. As in years past, the Frostfell Goblin will the "Upgrading Stockings" that sends players off on a series of quests.
EverQuest is expanding for the -- get this -- twenty-fourth time with Ring of Scale. Players will return to Kunark and visit familiar places from the Empires of Kunark expansion that came out last year, though a host of new monsters will greet them. New gear, spells and AAs are included in the expansion content as well. The team has plans to reveal more about Ring of Scale in October and pre-orders will begin mid-month.
EverQuest players will be able to check out the next progression server called Agnarr. It is a unique server from the standpoint that it is considered "POP" where unlocks end with Planes of Power. Expansions up to Planes of Power will unlock every twelve weeks with Lost Dungeons of Norrath being the final content unlock.
EverQuest is celebrating its eighteen birthday in style. From now through March 31st, players can get a free heroic character just for logging in. In addition, bonus experience is being offered as well as new two new player-designed missions and a new quest as well. Lastly a new progression server will be opening this summer as was announced on a recent live stream.
The EverQuest site has been updated with a brief look at the 2017 schedule for unlocking expansion content on the Phinigel server as well as the voting schedule for Ragefire and Lockjaw.
A brief preview of the next EverQuest update has been posted on the official site. Among other things, players can look forward to combat adjustments and AA ability consolidations.
Beginning today, EverQuest players can experience the past by participating in anniversary events from 2004-2013. Each NPC has a series of special quests tied to a given year in the past. The event begins today, Wednesday, April 27th and will last through Wednesday, June 8th giving plenty of time to see it all.
The EverQuest Ragefire progression server has unlocked the Scars of Velious expansion according to a post on the official site. All Access members can check it out for themselves.

Last month saw the release of EverQuest’s 22nd expansion. To honor the occasion we asked a few questions of one of the original designers and visionaries behind the project, Brad McQuaid. Read on for what Brad had to say.
