MMORPG.com: Looking back now, do you even recognize EQII today compared to the game it was at launch? So much has changed!

Holly Longdale: Just like everyone else, I reminisce about the old days. They always seem more romantic than the reality. I was really hardcore about using Heroic Opportunities in those days. And slowly growing into your subclass was a journey. I was one of the first dark elves to betray and become a monk in Qeynos. It took FOREVER, but at the time, it was well worth it!

MMORPG.com: When did you start on the project, and what has been your favorite milestone in the EQII journey so far?

Holly Longdale: I started December 2011, but I was working on EQ while EQII was in development. We knew the entire team then, and often discussed development and were involved in all the internal play tests. My favorite milestone has been SOE Live to be honest. It’s so nice to be around the players who are so passionate about what we love to do. It really renews us.

MMORPG.com: What about stories left untold? The lore's gotten pretty intense and deep... any plots you'd like to revisit and plumb for more ideas?

Holly Longdale: What is great is that this team is taking EQII on its own story trajectory. We will always hearken back to EQ, but this team wants to tell new stories. New characters. New lands.

MMORPG.com: Now, let's talk dream features... this is not an admission that something's coming or not coming to the game, just... if there was one thing you could add next to EQII, what would you make that?

Holly Longdale: For some reason, I’ve always wanted to do awesome flying combat. In a game where dragons are supreme – it always seemed like something cool to accomplish. The only problem is that it’s way too easy to do it badly. :)

MMORPG.com: Where do you see EQII in the next 10 years?

Holly Longdale: More and even better EQII. I hope we’ll see EQII remain relevant with its content and its appearance. This team never rests when it comes to improving this game.
