Summer Game Fest 2024 Live Blog - Follow Along For All The Big Announcements

Phantom Blade Zero got an excellent looking trailer, highlighting the fast-paced action combat.  We'll see some more gameplay, and impressions during the 2024 world media tour. 

Monster Hunter Wilds, the next installment in the longrunning franchise, received a gameplay trailer, showcasing some fo the cast, monsters, and how the game looks in motion. We'll see more, including the first playable demo at Gamescom.

Valorant, Riot's competitive hero shooter, is coming to consoles. A new trailer highlighted some gameplay on the new platform, as well as showcased the variety of heroes on offer. Limited beta on Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 starts on June 14th.

 

Palworld - A whole new island is coming to the survival creature collecting game. Sakurajima, a clearly Japanese inspired island will bring new Pals and more.

Hyper Light Breaker is coming soon, with its early access slated for later this summer.

Skate, the upcoming multiplayer skating game is still being worked on by Electronic Arts. However, the trailer at Summer Game Fest showcased some pre-alpha gameplay. This fall, consoles will get a playtest.

 

Kunitsu-Gami, the upcoming action RPG game from Capcom, finally has a release date. Coming July 19th, 2024.

New World is coming to console this October 15th.

Night Springs, DLC for Alan Wake 2, is out...tomorrow.

The Finals shadowdropped last year, and now the game is highlighting a new map, and slate of weapons, form Katanas, Bows and much more. 

Sonic and Shadow Generations is coming this October 25th.

Dune: Awakening gets a new trailer, showcasing the circumstances of the story, highlighting a world where Paul Atreides, the Lisan Al-Gaib didn't exist.

Innersloth, the developers behind Among Us, have announced a new indie fund, Outersloth. A trailer showcasing some of the games on the horizon was revealed, bringing more indie titles to the show.

Enotria: The Last Song, the upcoming Soulslike, coming September 19th. A demo is available now.

The First Descendant got a new trailer, finally revealing its release date. Nexon's looter shooter is coming on July 2nd.

Wanderstop, an upcoming cozy title from the makers of the Stanley Parable (which the trailer shows might not be so cozy after all) is coming soon. 

Bandai Namco also showed off a trailer for its upcoming action RPG, Unknown 9: Awakening, and it's looking pretty cool so far.

Cairn is an upcoming survival game from The Game Bakers, were players take on the dangers and trials of mountain climbing.

Killer Bean got another look, showcasing some more gameplay for this wacky, roguelike shooter.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 just got a new trailer, highlighting the characters and world players will experience in the upcoming medieval RPG.

Slitterhead, an action RPG, also got a gameplay trailer and release date: coming November 8th to PC and consoles.

All new Power Rangers action game, with a retro feel. Looks straight out of the 32-bit era. The 90s child in me is so on board for this.

Blumhouse is making games now, with a full slate announced by the studio on stage at SGF. According to Blumhouse founder, they are looking to allow developers to create "immersive" and "subversive" and much like Blumhouse movies.

NCSoft's upcoming battle royal game, Battle Crush, got a trailer at SGF today, with its early access release set for June 27th.

Tears of Metal, an upcoming co-op Roguelike from Paper Cut, just got its first reveal. The medieval hack and slash title puts players in the middle of a Scottish batallion, raging against an enemy invasion.

Dragonball Sparking Zero got a release date of October 11th, 2024

Fatal Fury,the legendary SNK fighting game franchise, is back, with a brand new character trailer highlighting the characters - with a crossover with Street Fighter 6.

Batman: Arkham Shadow is a Meta Quest 3 exclusive, putting players right into the cowl of the caped crusader as he fights criminals in the city of Gotham. Coming Fall 2024.

Metaphor: Refantazio dropped a new trailer, all about its Archetypes, the different jobs each character in the RPG from the Persona 5 developer can inhabit during combat.

Black Myth Wukong made another appearance at a Geoff Keighley show, announcing it will launch on August 20th to PC, Xbox and PlayStation. 

 

Starry Studio's Once Human also has a release date, coming to PC on July 9th.

The next installment in the legendary franchise, Civilization 7, is coming day and date on PC and consoles next year. Despite being leaked earlier today, it's an exciting announcement for those of us who have spent entirely too much time on "one more turn."

Neva got a first-ever look at its gameplay at today's Summer Game Fest, with the beautiful, painterly art style stunning in motion. Coming to consoles and PC this year.

Cuff Bust - a co-op game where you can bust outta jail with up to 20 of your friends, is the next game from the solo developer behind Choo Choo Charles.

No More Room In Hell 2, developed by Chivalry 2 dev Torn Banner Studios, with early access coming on Halloween 2024.

Meanwhile, Harry Potter fans can look forward to a new Quidditch game, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, coming to PC and consoles September 3rd

Geurilla Games' Horizon franchise is getting the LEGO treatment, with co-op. Yo can also build your own home, customize Aloy and his friends with LEGO pieces, and more. LEGO Horizon Adventures is coming Holiday 2024 day one on PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

Indie Games are dominating Steam - the top 10 best selling games on Steam this year so far, eight of the games are indie games.
