Live Blog: Xbox And Bethesda Showcase Hones In On ESO, Redfall And More

ESO announced late last year that they are changing up their release cadence, with Rich talking about it a bit more in detail during today's event. The roadmap will see the first half of the year stay about the same. But the second half will see QOL improvements and bug fixes, as well as a massive new update with update 40, which was teased to be an "endless dungeon with a buddy."

Two new companions are coming to ESO with Necrom: An Argonian Warden named Sharp-As-Night a Warden. Azander, a Redguard male who is an Arcanist is described as a mix between "Willy Wonka and Dumbledore."

The first DLC, Scribes of Fate, is coming in March, which sees the first bit of story around its dungeons.

The Arcanist itself is a new class, the first one since ESO's Elsewyr's Necromancer in 2019. Players can use the cosmic powers of Apocrypha to sling magical spells, teleport around the battlefield and much more. 

Elder Scrolls Online meets cosmic horror as the new Necrom chapter brings players back to Morrowind and Apocrypha. Check out the new trailer:

Redfall will also see players take back the city of Redfall neighborhood by neighborhood. This involves finding safe houses and liberating the neighborhood from the grips of the Vampire threat. Underbosses are the last step to liberate the neighborhood, each with their own unique abilities. These also set up climactic battles with the Vampire Gods.

Each character also features a unique skill tree allowing players to customize them to their playstyle, as well as customize a large swathe of equipment, from military grade hardware to unique, new technology aimed squarely at the vampire threat.

Redfall launches on PC and Xbox consoles May 2nd.

Redfall will include both a story mission, but also side events you can take part in. Keeping with true Arkane fashion these missions can be approached from a multitude of ways, helping to create an experience that feels unique to each encounter and reward creative thinking while trying to avoid the vampires. 

Each character has their own unique abilities, such as Jacob's raven which can count, while Dev can use a teleporter to get you where you need to be quick. Redfall will also have vampire nests, which change each time you enter one. 

For a limited time, ZeniMax is going to be letting players hop into pretty much every adventure the MMO has released for free, so long as they own the base game. High Isle isn't included in this, but that is still a stacked roster of content to work through. 

ESO Necrom is coming in June, alongside a new class: The Arcanist.

So Hi-Fi Rush releases today on PC, Xbox and Game Pass.

Hi-Fi Rush is the latest title coming from Tango Gameworks, the studio who brought The Evil Within and Ghostwire Tokyo.

The new title brings a cell shaded look to its rhythm action game. Each attack helps to create a unique soundtrack, thanks to a main character who can sense the rhythm of the world. Everythig in the world of Hi-Fi Rush operates on the beat of the soundtrack, from the way the world works, to combat itself. The music doesn't constrain you, though, as you can still jump dodge and you need. A floating cat companion acts as a metronome, helping to stay on beat.

Forza Motorsport is getting some incredibly good looking upgrades, from dynamic time of day and weather, Ray Traced Global Illumination, rendering everything at 4K60 with RT on track during gameplay. The team has made improvements to its already impressive car models, integrating these enhancements down to how the paint model on each car behaves with light. 

The new online racing mode will be coming with the game, as well as a new build-focused career mode, which will launch later this year.

And we have a release date for Minecraft Legends, which will release on April 18th.

Minecraft Legends is partnering with Blackbird Interactive to develop the title. Minecraft Legends will feature PvP with procedurally generated maps, PvPvE, and more. Players will need to work together to explore, collect resources, build and attack the enemy team.

Players will need to defend their own base by adding walls, base, towers and more to upgrade. Setting traps and setting up a strategy with your teammates to adjust to what your enemies are going to do.

Looks like Microsoft and Bethesda snuck in one more title in this event, announcing a redacted game from Tango Gameworks.
