EVE Online's Triglavian Invasion is Turning Hisec Systems into Lowsec

Implications for PvE

The new Triglavian Invasion in EVE Online is having quite the effect on the game.

If you recall, this final chapter is closing out a year-long invasion happening in-game. Said Bergur Finnbogason, EVE Online’s Creative Director, “Chapter 3 delivers a universe-changing event with a series of activities and player-driven decisions that will span the summer and change the landscape of EVE forever!”

And it looks like Finnbogason is getting his wish.

In the video, Jin’taan walks through various mechanics of the Triglavian Invasion. For example, new hauling ships have been showing up, which ultimately creates an interesting competitive PvE meta. The consequences of the Triglavian’s pushing through the first stage of their control drops the security status. This has the knock-on effect of turning a Hisec system into a Lowsec system. Jin’taan notes this change happens immediately creating a mad scramble in that area.

He notes reports of auto pilot not recognizing the system as Lowsec. The PvP in these systems remain constant, despite this. However, the fight for control of these systems hasn’t actually stopped during all this.

You can check out the full video below as Jin’taan delves into details and his own gameplay to explain what is happening with the latest update:
