Frontier has kicked off a new type of activity for Elite: Dangerous players called Interstellar Initiatives. These periodic events will feature narrative arcs that will play out across several phases and that have the potential to alter the galaxy permanently. The first of these events is called "Bridging the Gap".
The first week of Bridging the Gap will see players choosing a terminus location for Zende Partners that is looking for new commodities. As a result, they have several locations in mind for exploration in order to bring needed resources back. The goal is to "stimulate new innovations in the field of Guardian-human technology". Players will vote on the E:D forum to select the final location for an outpost. Over the coming month, more activities will be introduced to support the narrative storyline.
