cs74la writes: I can't say how the game it self is, i just can say, that the controlls are a horror, you have to make a whole seminar just to learn them, which are at default completely senseless (rolling the ship by mouse x axis? aso.). Whats wrong with the common cntrolls of Spaceshipgame, why does this game needs its own? No... pissed after a half our of tutorial just for the basics. Sun Mar 05 2017 6:14AM

And it offers almost as much to do as EVE Online. And being buy-to-play is a big plus with no sub to worry about. And one big thing it has that EVE doesn't: dogfighting combat! Fri May 27 2016 9:10AM

Think of an hybrid game with all necessary limitations of an peer to peer connections, brokered automatically from the central server. To some it seems to work, for otheres less and the rest just doesn't car. :D Thu Apr 14 2016 3:32PM
Eisdrache writes: Elite:Dangerous is the first game since a while, where you can actually fly like in WingComander or Freespace, but have a sandbox Universe to deal with. At least, that is what I thought it was. What makes this game worth a try is the sound and the community. I actually never expected I what notice sound unless it is total crap. But in E:D you can actually tell what ship you are sitting in by the remarkable sound of the engine and thrusters. And you can hear what kind of weapon is hitting you in which part of the ship. Stunning! On the other hand, there are 3 no gos for an MMO that spoil the fun. First of all, you can switch between open, group an solo play, which means you can vanish at one place when hunted, change location in solo mode, and reappear far away in the open universe all other players are in. You can also stack the same mission several times, by swapping the mode you are in, and get payed multiple times, for only one shot. Second, you can't neither trade with players, nor give them anything or just store goods ore move them between ships. Trade just happens through missions or with stations. Third, instances are limited to 32 player in one system. Bad enough, but you will already struggle to get 8 players in 2 wings at the same spot in the same instance. Not to mention it's merely impossoble to find an enemy wing on purpose, unless you actually make an appointment and take your time to get all players there to start a fight. Works for a duel, but not for a war. So, if you are going for action or unlimited possiblities: Elite isn't your game. If you wanna just fly around the galaxy alone and discover thousands of more or less beautiful star systems: give it a try. Thu Mar 31 2016 1:47PM
