Debug Camera to Unlock in March -

The Elite: Dangerous forum has been updated with a new developer post that lays out some of the upcoming features players can expect from the beta update v1.2. According to the post, the update should arrive in March. Of particular note, the update will feature a debug camera that will allow players to take epic screenshots of their ships from the outside, though the caveat is mentioned that it is not a game play camera.

Wing beacons will also be introduced in the next update that allow players to send signals from their ships to super cruiser environments. Beacon functionality allows other players and NPC ships accessing the signal to drop into the same location and is considered an enhancement for cooperative adventuring.

The new wings system also brings area-wide text communications broadcast to all nearby ships. Captains will be able to toggle whether or not to receive such communication.

Lastly, the team has given a new pass over the cost of ship repair to balance it more evenly. According to the post, ship repairs should not break a player's bank so lowering prices appears to be the best way to approach the issue. Releasing it on the test server will allow for data collection to see how the new pricing structure is working.
