Aiming for the Stratosphere with 1.4M Units Sold

Frontier Developments has announced that 1.4M units of Elite: Dangerous have been sold across PC/Mac/XBox One platforms. In addition, the team revealed that the average play time for each player is about sixty hours, an amazing 84M player hours so far in the game's life.

“We have an amazing player community,” Frontier CEO David Braben said. “The average play time among our 1.4 million players is 60 hours – that’s a massive 84 million player hours and counting.

With the community’s feedback, we’re constantly making Elite Dangerous better than ever. We have incredible long-term ambition and we will continue to deliver on those ambitions. We will detail more exciting developments for Horizons very soon.”

The the first of several parts of the Horizons expansion launched and active support for virtual reality, it appears that Elite: Dangerous is on solid ground.
