Zenimax Online have shared some more details on the Antiquities system set to hit Greymoor, the latest chapter for Elder Scrolls Online.

As a quick recap, Greymoor is set to release on May 26 for PC/Mac and June 9 for PS4 and Xbox One. As part of the new chapter, a new exploration-based feature is being introduced called Antiquities. Essentially, once you join the Antiquarian Circle, you’ll be tasked with traveling around the world and digging up relics like treasure, some unique collectibles, and Mythic items.

Michael Schoreder, a Senior Systems Designer for Elder Scrolls Online, described the system thusly,

“With Antiquities, we wanted to create a new activity wholly unlike what you’ve done before, and give you a reason to return to the places you might’ve already explored. We wanted to celebrate the entirety of Tamriel–every region, every era–and create a whole new way for you to investigate its mysteries.”

Of course, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts. These rewards include adornments, costumes, a new Magicka Lance siege weapon for PvP, new crafting motifs, new enchantments, furnishings, mythic items, and more. Additionally, you’ll be rewarded piece meal for the Ebon Dwarven Wolf mount.

A new minigame to fine the relic’s location will be introduced, called the Antiquarian’s Eye. It’s essentially a little puzzle minigame which you must sort out in order to understand the location of a relic.
