Elder Scrolls Online Previews 'the Mysteries & Dangers of Murkmire'

It behooves an intrepid explorer to understand the danger into which he rides. To prepare said intrepid explorers for the Murkmire DLC, the Elder Scrolls Online site has been updated with a brief look at some of the mysteries and potential dangers that may be encountered.

Murkmire is the home of the Argonians, a location that has managed to repel invaders for centuries. To showcase the potential riches -- and the inherent danger -- the blog delves into Argonians and the way they "look at things" from a different worldview than the rest of Tamriel.

Along the way, players will encounter a variety of Argonian tribes, "each representing an aspect of Argonian life and culture". Quests will provide players with opportunities to explore both ancient and modern Argonian life and its diversity.

But no zone would be complete without other inhabitants. Players will find a number of new creatures that masquerade in beauty. Plantlife may seem lovely to the ey and deadly to the body. Players will encounter giant alligators and salamanders, to name but a pair of deadly opponents.

Some of the most seemingly unnatural creatures we have in Murkmire are the voriplasms," says Zone Lead Ed Stark. "But when you think about the swamp and how it absorbs its invaders, you can see how the voriplasms might actually be an expression of that."

And what new zone would be complete without new gear to collect, items to find and much more. Murkmire will include two new world bosses, two delves and "a huge amount of stand-alone quests". Completing dailies will help players earn three gear sets and others will be craftable such as the Grave-Stake Collector set.
