Elder Scrolls Online Devs Breakdown Performance Improvements Coming to MMORPG

The Elder Scrolls Online is one of the more impressive looking MMOs in the gaming world today, but it does suffer when it comes to performance - especially in cities. The ZeniMax Online Studios team outlined today some of the ways they are planning on improving performance in the coming months.

The full post details the upcoming plans, both those in the short term and those planned out in the future, as to how they plan to improve some of the areas that keep ESO from performing its best. Some of those fixes include a memory management overhaul coming Q4 2019, as well as improvements to combat abilities.

Come Q1 2020, the team is overhauling how it patches The Elder Scrolls Online, which will also be tied to faster loading and characters. Additionally update 25 will see improvements come to frame rates, especially the effects manager as it "drives everything related to abilities in the game including but not limited to particle effects, animations and movement properties."

Be sure to check the ESO site for the full details, as well as the previously reported improvements first detailed in August. Also, if you haven't read it yet, be sure to join the conversation about whether or not Cyrodiil should have PVP, or whether our editor Shank is off his rocker.
