Five Reasons to Play The Dark Brotherhood
The Dark Brotherhood is Elder Scrolls Online’s latest DLC pack. Centered squarely on the eponymous assassin’s guild of Tamriel, it’s been a long awaited addition to the game since its original launch. Already released for PC players, Dark Brotherhood is set to arrive on PS4 and XB1 June 14th. Today, we’re going to share with you five reasons you should play the latest ESO DLC.
EXPLORE THE GOLD COAST
Everyone loves new places to explore in Tamriel, and the Dark Brotherhood has just that. Following the main intrigue and espionage storyline of Dark Brotherhood, you’ll explore the Gold Coast (originally visited by players in Morrowind) as seen in a whole new light… or dark. You’ll explore cities like Anvil and Kvatch for the first time in Elder Scrolls Online, and you’ll murder lots of people while doing it!
HUNTERS BECOME THE HUNTED
Someone is hunting the hunters of the Dark Brotherhood, and it’s going to be up to you, the newest initate, to find out whom, why… and to end it. A mysterious figure in dark armor has both the power and the gumption to take on Tamriel’s most dangerous guild.
MURDER BY THE NUMBERS
Maybe you liked the idea of The Thieves Guild, but sneaking around and breaking into people’s houses just to steal some bacon wasn’t really your idea of excitement? What about sneaking into their houses, murdering them, and then getting paid by the Dark Brotherhood? There are loads of contracts when you become a member of the Dark Brotherhood, and each one pays in gold and extremely valuable items. There’s never a shortage of people who need a little deadly reminder that they messed with the wrong person.
EVEN MORE PROGRESSION
One of MMO-dom’s deepest character building systems just got deeper with a brand new passive skill line for the Dark Brotherhood. These are ones you’ll want to pump points into as well, because by leveling your Dark Brotherhood skills, you can evade or avoid punishment from the law. No more hefty fines or guards out to kill you? Sounds like a good idea, to me.
BYE-BYE VETERAN RANKS!
A long while back, Veteran Ranks were the main way in which you’d progress at the level cap in Elder Scrolls Online. Then came Champion Points, which proved an ever better and more frequent reward for continuing to build your character past level 50. Suddenly, Veteran Ranks were redundant and dragging down the game’s top-tiered players and the many forms of matchmaking. It’s been a long road to do it smoothly, but we removed the Veteran Rank system entirely with this patch, leaving Champion Points as the one true way to progress your character beyond level 50. Oh, and one final note? Like Orsinium and Thieves Guild before it, the Dark Brotherhood can be experienced at any level since the game scales you up in stats and power to meet the challenges you’ll face.
There are probably more reasons to check out The Dark Brotherhood which I’m forgetting. If you’ve been playing on the PC already, feel free to share your reasons below. The Dark Brotherhood is available now for 2,000 Crowns or for free to ESO Plus members on PC. It launches on XB1 and PS4 on June 14th. Get out there, murder some people, have a good time.
