Open Beta Launches

Outblaze and TurnOut Ventures have announced that the open beta for Earth Eternal has officially commenced. The open beta is expected to last several weeks and participating players will receive a nice rewards package that includes a Beta Beast banner, a Beta Beast helmet, and a boost to character experience gain. Devs have also indicated that players reaching level 30 will receive an special reward.

Earth Eternal is coming back to North American audiences. With new ownership of the game, handled now by Outblaze and TurnOut Ventures, we can expect a revamped and revived game. Within the next few weeks, players should expect to keep their eyes peeled for the Open Beta Test of the game.


Facing Imminent Closure

Earth Eternal, the browser based game from Sparkplay, is facing closure unless devs can find a buyer at an auction today. CEO Matt Mihaly has penned a letter to EE fans and players. "Sparkplay has hit hard times and is not going to survive. I had to lay off all of our staff except for two people (one of which is me) on Friday, and it's likely that by this time next week neither of us will be with Sparkplay any more either. The simple fact is that we've run out of money." Mihaly writes.

Patch Adds Standalone Client; New Video

Sparkplay has announced a new patch and video for their 3D MMORPG Earth Eternal. The patch brings a new unique entry zone called Bastion Island, a complete overhaul of Mushroom Isle, a rebalance of all the game's items in anticipation of new PvP content, this includes new high-level items, item rarity classification, and a loosening of armor requirements so that any class can wear any type of armor.

Harvest Fest Event!

Earth Eternal's Harvest Fest event has been announced as this year's Thanksgiving event. Harvest Fest, which begins today and runs through November 30th, will allow players to slay a giant Turkey called the Turkatrice King, and reap some delicious yet deadly rewards! For example, players can wield the Turkatrice's legs in combat, though I'm not sure if you can chow down on them when you're done.
