January Producer's Letter -

The producers of Earth and Beyond have posted their monthly producer letter. It talks about E & B's current status, future updates, and much more.

January Producer Letter

Happy New Year from the Earth & Beyond team!
While we've had a short development cycle for this month's game update because of the holidays, we do have some additions that we really think you're going to enjoy. In fact, the biggest news is that we're ready to advance our ongoing storyline, beginning with the January patch!

You've no doubt discovered by now that there is quite a bit of politics, conflict, and intrigue occurring inside the Earth & Beyond universe. We've built the foundation for an exciting, dynamic story, and now we're ready to move forward with the plot. The story will continue evolving, so while you may have gotten used to a static story in the past, you should start to see frequent changes. As the storyline evolves, the E&B universe will evolve with it, and we're very excited about the plans we have for the plot as it unfolds. Those of you who have been asking for more story-related content should really enjoy the January update!

The primary method for advancing the storyline is by adding new content, and we've got lots of it this month. We have more than a dozen new missions going into the game, all of which are involved with our dynamic storyline. Many of you will also be pleased to hear that we've added the 50th level promotion missions this month! And of course, we have the typical bug fixes and minor tweaks that are common in a persistent game of this type.

We're also working out the final details for implementing a test server, which we hope to have available for you by the end of the month. This test server will give us a chance to test out new content and systems on a live server before it is pushed to all the actual game servers. This will help us identify potential issues that only arise when tested in a live game environment. It will also allow players to get a sneak peek at upcoming features and fixes that might be going in the game. So, please watch for more details on the test center; we will let you know when it is available to players.

And while we had a shortened development cycle for this month's game update, we have a team working feverishly now on the February patch. We have some great stuff planned for February, including some initial vault improvements, lots more content, and hopefully some guild amenities. We also have some other surprises in store, so stay tuned.

Watch for more details about this month's patch in our upcoming E&B Portal chat (time and date to be announced soon!), as well as the full patch message when it's published in the next couple of weeks. We're excited about the upcoming year for Earth & Beyond; there are going to be some fun times ahead!
