Grimm Bros, an indie game developer, has announced that it will be releasing a large new update for Dragon Fin Soup. as it exists on current platforms (PC, Steam, PS4, PS3 & PS Vita) and that several more platforms will be added by the end of 2016. These include Xbox One, iOS, Android, FireTV, Mac and Linux.
Aptly named indie developer Grimm Bros. have put together a take on the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood by the Grimm brothers with Dragon Fin Soup. In Dragon Fin Soup, you play as ‘Red Robin’, who is essentially the character of Little Red Riding Hood – if she were also a knife wielding, shotgun toting, raging alcoholic.
Our first demo of Dragon Fin Soup came at PAX East, and the small team at Grimm Bros was coming off a more than healthy response to its then-unfinished Kickstarter campaign for the game. Months later, with the bulk of the crowdfunding behind the game, as well as further development, Grimm Bros took Dragon Fin Soup to PAX Prime, where we got to chat with CEO and developer Ash Monif and check out what's new.
Dragon Fin Soup isn’t trying to start a revolution, but it is bringing the nostalgia factor and blending it with modern gameplay and a ton of humor. The upcoming RPG blended with roguelike gameplay elements is inspired by the kinds of games the developers (Grimm Bros, a five man team) want to play and spent much time playing.
Dragon Fin Soup is now a fully funded project for the Grimm Bros. The KickStarter campaign has successfully completed funding the indie-RPG at 500% of the original goal.
Grimm Bros. has posted a new video featuring 24-minutes of game play from its forthcoming RPG, Dragon Fin Soup. The video also features developer commentary to give fans an inside look at the development of the title. The video has been released with two days left in the Dragon Fin Soup KickStarter initiative.
