Dragon Age: Inquisition is the third installment in BioWare's Dragon Age RPG series. The game will blend features from both of its predecessors, and takes additional influence from games such as The Elder Scrolls v: Skyrim. From the use of the Frostbite 3 engine to a new armor system, a tweaked combat system, a multiplayer component, and even a new playable race - Qunari-- intend to keep things fresh for fans.
Players will take on the role of The Inquisitor, with the game's main plot set all over the world of Thedas and concerning a tear in the Veil that threatens the world itself. War between mages and templars will figure into this story. Certain characters from both previous games will make their return, with an announced nine possible party members to join the Inquisitor on his or her journey.
FEATURES
- Expanded, More Open World | Giving players more freedom to explore, Dragon Age: Inquisition will take place in a world about five times the size of the entire first game's setting.
- Customize Your Character Experience | Play as a Human, Elf, Dwarf, or the new Qunari option, then choose Mage, Warrior, or Rogue. Armor and weapons systems will give further customization options for Inquisitor and companions.
- Transfer Previous Game Saves | Players will be able to use a tool known as Dragon Age Keep to transfer previous save files from the first two games and DLC in order to ensure continuity and possibly affect character appearances.

Mike Laidlaw is is leaving BioWare after fourteen years with the company. He had an instrumental part in the development of Jade Empire, Mass Effect and most notably in the Dragon Age series. He offers no explanation about where he's headed, though he says that he plans to "reconnect with all the amazing games and worlds that my peers have created". What this means for Dragon Age remains unknown though he expressed confidence that the world "we've created together is in good hands".

As with the announcement of Mass Effect media coming out next year, Dragon Age will also see a new comic series, Knight Errant, will be released in May 2017 with an adult coloring book coming in February 2017.

David Gaider, principal lead writer on the Dragon Age series and instrumental in the creation of one of the first openly gay characters in gaming, has announced his departure from Bioware after nearly two decades. Gaider started his career on the Baldur's Gate series, worked on Knights of the Old Republic all the way through the Dragon Age series.

Bioware and Dark Horse Comics have announced that the first issue in a new series of Dragon Age comics is now available for digital and physical purchase. Called Dragon Age: Magekiller, this latest series will tell a story of Tessa and Marius, mercenaries hunting those who use blood magic.
