Get Ready for a New Adventure Starting September 14th - MMORPG.com

Larian Studios has announced that Divinity: Original Sin 2 will officially launch on September 14, 2017. The keenly anticipated title will come complete with the Game Master and PvP modes as well as a brand new story and adventures.

To celebrate today's announcement, a new Early Access patch has been released that brings two new locations and the companion relationship system into play. Character creation and crafting have also been overhauled for this update and a new origin story for a (*chuckles*) pirate dwarf named Beast is included in a new trailer.

The story for Divinity: Original Sin 2 will have a darker story and it will take place thousands of years in the future from the original. Players are renegades and purveyors of forbidden magic.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 breaks new ground in what players expect from role playing in their RPGs, featuring 4-player co-op through which players can compete or cooperate to reach their goals. The new relationship system provides more nuance to character interactions, as individuals will have their own objectives and priorities based on their background and race. Whether you choose to balance your party’s individual goals for the greater good or fight to make sure you always get your way, character relationships play a major role in determining how players advance through the world.

You can pre-order Divinity: Original Sin on Steam for $44.99 and play in Early Access through launch day.

You can learn more on the Divinity: Original Sin 2 site.
