Divergence Online

The Divergence Online site has been updated with the news that a new update has been applied to the game that adds the Anduine biome, new creatures and variety of new air and land vehicles.

Ethan Casner has sent word that Divergence Online in its current form is not turning a profit as hoped. Citing DO as being too "niche", Casner has now announced that the best features of Divergence are becoming the foundation of a new, more "Road Warrior" type, game called Divergence: Year One.

Ethan Casner and team have put out a new trailer and information that announces that early access to Divergence Online simply awaits Steam giving it the literal green light to open. Considered by developers to be the "spiritual successor to Star Wars: Galaxies", the game has had its ups and downs over its eight years in development but now, with core features in place, the game is ready to launch for $40, with a $30 price tag during launch week.

Ethan Casner will be showing off the voxel-based building system ("Ferrocrete") that will be used in Divergence Online. The event is slated to take place on the Divergence Online YouTube on Wednesday, October 14th at 6:00 pm Pacific / 9:00 pm Eastern.

Divergence Online, called the 'spiritual successor to pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies' by its development team, has started a brand new Indiegogo fundraising campaign for $15,000 to fund continued development. Potential contributors can download an available client to try before backing the project, an interesting twist on most crowd-funding campaigns.

Divergence Online successfully completed a recent crowd sourcing campaign and has been busily working on the game. We took some time to catch up with Ethan Casner to find out the latest developments in this anticipated title.

This video's a bit old, but we totally missed it back in July. Apologies! Finally we're ready to showcase a good portion of what we've been spending these last months on with regards to transitioning our game from a mere prototype to a professional game. While there's still a good deal of work to go, this new direction decimates our previous "pick a pre-defined player appearance" and will lay the framework for tons of unique content in the future.

We have received word from the Divergence Online team that players are being invited to come check out the overhauled character system in the game. The team is excited to let players have the ability to make characters in any way they wish: "gone are the days of picking a body type and choosing one face from a dozen". You can mold virtually everything about your character you wish."
