A new design journal has been published on the Diablo 3 site that lays out some forthcoming design changes to legendary gems in the game. The article begins with a discussion of gem basics, what role each fulfills and how some have slipped through the cracks as far as being worth using. To address this, several gems will be undergoing significant changes in the next patch.

The Blizzard Jobs page has been updated with an expanded advertisement for developers to work on an unannounced Diablo universe project. The job postings originally cropped up last October but have been recently updated with a search for a Senior Concept Artist, Senior Character Artist and a Lighting Artist.

After spending several hours exploring the new update, the question becomes what 2.4 brings to the average Diablo 3 player: A lot of lag for console players from what I understand. I play on PC so I have not experienced this, but there have been wide reports by players on all available consoles that this is a huge problem. Beyond that, there are a lot of things that are pretty fun, but outrageously frustrating at times as well.

Diablo 3 players in North America can now log into servers to try out the latest and one of the biggest updates to the game. Seasonal play in Diablo III is undergoing some significant changes when it rolls out onto live servers on January 15, 2016. Among other things, Blizzard has removed Seasonal Legendaries completely in direct response to player-feedback. As a replacement, players will receive something called "Haedrig's Gift", a bundle of set items given along the way during each season. Over the course of seasonal play, adventurers should be able to attain a full class set that will rotate from season to season.

On the second day of BlizzCon 2015, we sat down with System Designer Joe Shely and Senior Level Designer Matthew Berger to go over the particulars of Diablo 3's upcoming big patch, 2.4. Starting off, Berger discussed the new zone, the Eternal Woods, featuring roaming yetis.
