It took a long time to bring ArcheAge over to the US and EU when Trion imported XLGAMES’ MMO. That doesn’t seem to be the case with Bluehole Ginno’s Action MMORPG, Devilian. Now just a few short weeks into the founder’s alpha the NDA has been lifted and Trion says beta is right around the corner. Today, we’re offering our thoughts on the alpha so far.

Trion Worlds has announced that the NDA has been lifted from participants in the Devilian alpha so that streamers and writers can now share experiences with the world. Players currently involved in the alpha have also received a code for a friend invite.

The NDA for Action MMORPG Devilian was stealth lifted by Trion and Ginno last night, so Bill woke up early to play an Evoker from the beginning for you! His Founder's pack was paid for by his own hard earned cashola, not provided by Trion.

As announced to our own Bill Murphy during last weekend's PAX Prime, the Friends & Family alpha for Devilian has started today. Included in that number are founders of the "Obsidian" level as well.

Every time Suzie Ford and I chat about Diablo, I always wind up bemoaning the lack of fantasy MMORPGs that play like Diablo. I really and thoroughly enjoy action RPGs. I have since D1 first scared the crap out of me with the Butcher. You’ll imagine my excitement then that Trion and Bluehole Ginno’s Devilian really is every bit the Action MMORPG I’ve been wanting for over a decade.

During this weekend's PAX Prime, Trion announced that Founders' Packs for Devilian will be available in three different configurations, each including beta access and with its own in-game bonuses, patron status, pets, mounts, etc. Packs will run $50, $100, and $150. In addition, the first alpha phase is set to begin on Thursday, September 3rd.

Devilian Producer Drewcifer has published the latest Producer Letter that gives some interesting details about the team's recent visit to Germany during Gamescom.

Ginno Games and HanGame have parted ways for publishing Devilian Online in Korea. As of September 21st, HanGame will shut down the Korean version of Devilian, with all user data handed back to Ginno Games pending finding a new publisher and relaunching the game.

At first glance, Devilian looks like your typical isometric hack-and-slash action-RPG. But, beyond the Diablo-esqe art style lies an approachable MMO, with hints of a deep itemisation and ability system that promises to keep theorycrafters busy. As I went hands-on with the title at Gamescom, it quickly became clear why Trion Games decided to pick up the title from Korean studio Bluehole Ginno: satisfying short-burst gameplay.

Trion Worlds has reveleaded the latest class for Devilian Online. The Cannoneer is, according to the developer blog, a ranged "cannon-wielding cutie".

The Devilian site has been updated with a new post about the Evoker class from the forthcoming title. The evoker is an elemental spellcaster that can cast frost spells and an array of AOE spells.

The latest Feature Spotlight has debuted on the Devilian site. This time, Talismans are revealed. Talismans are dropped by bosses or crafted and can be equipped similar to gear starting at level 10. Interestingly, talismans can be 'leveled' and fused with others to create synergies providing players with a variety of buffs that can include attack power or movement speed or protection from elements all the way to acquisition of gold.

The Devilian Online site has been updated with the first in a series of class profiles. This time, the Shadowhunter takes center stage, a cloaked whip-wielding class that hangs in the shadows waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.
