Mounted Combat
Mounts matter in Riders of Icarus. They have stats, skills, and can be enhanced with gear. Mounts level up as you use them and forge a bond. There are offensive mounts, defensive mounts, and extremely fast mounts. And why does this matter? You’ll be riding your mounts into battle both on land and in the air!
Your skills change when you mount up, as now you’ll attack with a crossbow at range and a spear when up-close. Your mount has unique skills as well, like the ability to roast targets with Agnas the Red’s Magma Breath. You’ll especially need to sharpen your aerial moves in order to fell Attaius, the first raid boss.
A Stable of Beasts
You’ll want to collect a variety of mounts in order to take advantage of their unique skills and specific advantages they provide in battle. And, you’ll want to capture them a few times. You can use a Pet Scroll, found as mob drops, to transform your mount into a pet! Pets have their own set of stats, skills, and gear that they can use just like mounts. Plus, they join you in combat and level up with you, just like your mount.

You can also take your mount and seal it to unlock its inner magical force, imbuing your gear with that power. Use a Seal Stone, found as mob drops and from in-game vendors, on your mount or pet and then seal it into your gear. Sealing higher level mounts and pets will provided greater bonuses to your gear.

Mounts and pets provide different types of stats—defensive, healing, offensive—so you’ll have a wide variety of options to choose from when piecing together your perfect build.
Combo Combat
Riders of Icarus gives the classic MMORPG a fresh combat system. Each class’s attack skills are based on combos, building up to a choice of devastating finishers so that you can choose the perfect one for that specific fight. Whether you’re an Assassin who strikes from the shadows with a flurry of attacks or a Wizard who mixes both fire and frost magic, you’ll be able to find a class that perfectly fits your style of play.

You can also choose between two interfaces—Standard Mode and Action Mode. Standard Mode is the familiar tab-target system, whereas Action Mode allows you to play the game more like a first-person shooter, using a center-of-screen cursor to aim and firing off different attacks or skills. Action Mode is perfect for mounted combat and truly gives you a feeling of freedom as you soar through the skies and shoot down enemies.
Mount Up
Riders of Icarus has more than 100 beasts to tame with new ones being introduced with every game update. It’s the classic MMORPG with improvements, enhancements, and additions you’ll wonder how you ever did without.
