What We Know So Far

Shrike Personal Transport Design Notes

The Destiny site has been updated with a new developer post to detail the personal transport vehicle, the Shrike. The Shrike resembles a motorcycle without wheels, similar in style to the speeder used in Star Wars movies.


New Trailer Surfaces at Spike Awards

Bungie released a new Destiny trailer during the 2013 Spike VGX awards. The video features tons of environmental shots as well as game play footage and more. Bungie also announced that Destiny will be arriving in September 2014.


PlayStation Beta to Kick Off First

Bungie has announced that PlayStation 3 and 4 users will gain first access to Destiny. Pre-ordering Destiny for the PS3-4 will allow players to enter a special code. Those who preordered prior to October 1st will receive their beta access codes via email from the retailer where the game was ordered. XBox 350 and XBox 1 beta details have yet to be released.


Grab Bag of Questions Answered

The Bungie team recently gathered a plethora of fan questions and have answered several of them on PlayStation.com. Topics range from whether or not there will be PvP to how many players can game together.


Pre-Order from Participating Retailers and Get Beta Access

According the Amazon.com product page for Bungie's Destiny, folks preordering the MMOFPS from Amazon, or other authorized retailers, will get automatic access to the beta when it kicks off early in 2014. Currently the placeholder "release date" is June 30, 2014.


Design Director Abruptly Leaves Bungie

Bungie's long time employee and Destiny Design Director Joseph Staten has abruptly left the company. Staten had been employed by Bungie for over 15 years and his farewell note on the official site gives no real hint at his reasons other than wanting to "explore new creative challenges".


Out Here in the Wild Video Developer Diary

The Destiny team has released a new video developer diary that details the world that the game will embody. Called "Out Here in the Wild", the developers speak to the weapons system, the world itself, what characters will know about the tools they use, and much more. Check it out!


Red Death - A Heavy Metal Weapon

Destiny's site has been updated with a preview of a weapon that players will have access to in the game. Called "Red Death", the gun is an 'exotic', a weapon forged in the past that only certain players will be able to access.


Gameplay Spotlighted in New Trailer

The Destiny team has released a brand new trailer to show off some epic game play from the forthcoming game. The footage was taken during a demo session and gives fans a walkthrough of the content.


PS4 Gameplay Demo

The Destiny team spent some time at E3 2013 showing off the game as it will play on the PlayStation4. The team has posted a video to show off the demo footage that is worth the time to watch for fans of the forthcoming game.

Law of the Jungle Trailer Released

Bungie has released a brand new 30-second Destiny trailer that will debut on cable's TNT channel on Saturday, May 25th. The trailer features "the award-winning visual effects studio Digital Domain, "Law of the Jungle" gives players a taste of Destiny's action-packed adventures through a live-action and CG interpretation of the epic game universe."
