Sony has announced that Destiny players will be able to control the game via their PlayStation Vita. Bungie optimized the Vita specifically for Destiny game play.

Players wanting to get a sneak peek at the cosmos to be featured in Destiny can take a look at the newly unveiled interactive site, Destiny Planet View. Planet View currently allows for in-depth information about Earth, the Moon and Venus, with more planets and information to be added at a later date.

As of Saturday, Bungie's first big post-Halo game is finally done and on its way to stores. The game launches September 9th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4.

Bungie has released a trailer for Destiny, what it calls "the most preordered game in history". The trailer shows off cooperative multiplayer and was shown for the first time at this week's Gamescom convention in Germany.

Bungie has announced that over 4.6 million unique users took part in the recent Destiny beta events. The development team proudly stated that this is by far the largest console beta event in history.

Last week I talked about how Destiny can be looked on as a MMO. It wasn’t an exercise in trying to convince people that it is an MMORPG as much as it was to show people that if you have some preconceptions about the game Destiny just might surprise you in how familiar some of its core aspects are. That said the beta ended this past weekend after we received a tease of the moon and it has left us time to reflect on the good and bad we came across over the past week.

Destiny beta testers are reminded that playing on Saturday, July 26th will net them a special in-game badge as a reminder of their participation in the event and in the beta.

When it comes to FPSs the last game I played through the entire campaign and enjoyed was Turok: Dinosaur Hunter for the Nintendo 64. Needless to say FPS games really aren’t my thing. Sure I’ve dabbled with Goldeneye 007, played some Timesplitters, and got my can kicked in a few matches of Halo multiplayer but I know when a genre just isn’t meant for me. I’m content to stick to MMOs and RPGs and let millions of other gamers virtually slaughter each other over and over again.
