Iron Banner Events to Offer a Way to Directly Acquire Items + Armor Masterwork - Destiny 2 - MMORPG.com

The latest "This Week at Bungie" has been posted to give the latest updates to Destiny 2. It begins with the good news that players will now be able to acquire items directly from Lord Saladin during each event. The next set of items he will have in stock is listed in the letter.

Armor Masterwork is coming next week. All Legendary armor can drop as Masterwork following the same general parameters as those for weapons. Trials of the Nine and Raids will feature a higher chance for Armor Masterwork. Lastly, armor stats can be reworked. "The results will still be stat packages that are found on other pieces". According to Bungie, this is the first iteration of Armor Masterworks with tweaks and updates coming in the future.

Raid Rewards are being overhauled to make them more meaningful. . Senior Designer Daniel Auchenpaugh has provided an extensive look at how that will appear. Some of the topics he covers include:

  • Raid armor with raid perks
  • double drops in raids
  • Raid encounters will always drop a raid piece
  • raid vendors will sell a rotating selection of gear
  • Contender's Shell Exotic Raid Ghost

I realize this is a bit of an avalanche of text more than a wall, but I wanted to talk about both what we were working on and why we did it. I know we still aren't going to address every concern here, but hopefully this is a start in good faith. If we missed the mark on something, please let us know. Additionally, if you think we really nailed it with one of these changes, please give us that feedback as well so we can keep doing more of that. We're hard at work on the next month's update now, but I hope next week you jump back in to the Leviathan (both Raid and the Lair) and let us know how it feels.

The Armor Masterwork changes are expected to be released on January 30th.

There will be three maintenance periods in the coming week: January 29th, January 30th and January 31st
