During a livestream on Bungie's official Twitch and Youtube channel's, the new Season 11 'Season of Arrivals' for Destiny 2 was detailed. In addition, Bungie has unveiled the new expansion Beyond Light.
The stream started off with a moment of silence for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, honoring the life of George Floyd. During which, Bungie asked for players to "do more" by becoming more active. "Sign up. Donate. Organize. Mobilize." and listed five charities to support, including blacklivesmatter.com.
After, Bungie officially unveiled the expansion coming this fall: Beyond Light, launching on September 22, 2020. This new expansion will finally allow players to explore Jupiter's moon Europa, the birthplace of the Exo, that was envisioned during initial development of Destiny 1. Additionally, Bungie announced the next two expansions after that: The Witch Queen coming in 2021, and Lightfall (working title) coming in 2022.
Bungie also touched on next-gen and announced the both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will - finally - run at 4K 60 FPS. To sweeten this news, they also announced that purchases on current-gen systems will carry forward on the same family of consoles. For example, players on PlayStation 4 will be able to carry over their purchases onto the PlayStation 5. Players can also play cross-generationally between the same family of consoles, and Bungie said they are working towards bringing cross-platform support in 2021.
Lastly, the newest Season 11 'Season of Arrivals' received a new trailer that shows off story elements and mentions additional content such as a new exotic quest being added. This new season is available right now. Bungie also announced that a brand new Dungeon called 'Prophecy' is being added today at 5:00pm PDT, which will offer an exclusive new armor set to chase after, that is free to all players. In case you missed it, Season 11 changes the World Loot Pool and Weapon Perks as well.
