Bungie to Remove Gauntlet that Resembles Hate Group Symbol

Bungie has been called out by Destiny 2 players for the Road Complex AA1 gauntlets that have a stylized version of the word Kek emblazoned down the sleeve over a green background. Many felt that this was eerily close to a similar symbol used by a white supremacist group that was seen during the recent Charlottesville rally where a woman was killed by a car that plowed into a crowd of counter protesters.

The "National Flag of Kekistan" also features a stylized version of "kek" over a green background and is said to be modeled after the Nazi swastika war symbol.

Bungie responded first on Twitter:

1/2 It’s come to our attention that a gauntlet in Destiny 2 shares elements with a hate symbol. It is not intentional. We are removing it.

2/2 Our deepest apologies. This does NOT represent our values, and we are working quickly to correct this. We renounce hate in all forms.

Later, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons weighed in on the issue:

At Bungie, our company values place the highest emphasis on inclusion of all people and respect for all who work with us or play our games. https://t.co/lox0XuYhgJ
